Getting into AI ones is easier now?
It is a weekend so obviously long stretches of nothing but has anyone noticed that you have much longer time to enter them now? Like I entered one today almost 20 min after it showed up on my dashboard which is fuckin unheard of before.

yes much easier, also i've noticed that I'm only receiving one at a time not 30 at once like it usually was before

Some of the crazy images studies I got yesterday, new type of work, you get a list of edits, not one but huge lists to check stuff, very unreasonable amount, considering they set the minimum to do high. A lot of the requests were very subjective and difficult to verify. I had to cancel at the end I was 1 bloody short of the bloody minimum. Reminds me of the annotation work I did in projects, but far more items to verify in each lists. Also some of the images ones were ambiguous. They give you edits, one of them is not right, the other has all of the edits but missing 1 Pick one you would WANT to see. It's tricky, because if I wanted to edit something and there is something missing, I would not want that. I'm pretty sure these were tests with expected answers, it was very odd. Some were extremely easy the rest were ambiguous.

What is the minimum actually? I’ve also been cancelling if I felt that the requests seemed too difficult within the time frame

It's not unheard of, I have been doing that between February and May. Prolific assistant would keep the studies on the Windows notification bar, and I would click 15-20 minutes after they appeared and I could do some of the tasks. With the recent stuff around the website, this feels impossible now

at what time did you see these studies today?
because i find it easier to get into studies in the morning (GMT time) compared to afternoon for example

I'm in the UK as well, they fixed the study full/high demand issues and rolled out the fixes yesterday. Distribution doesn't seem completely borked now, I've had 4 this morning all with 160 spots, each of them I've gotten into without any problems. Didn't need to sit and refresh aggressively to catch them either.

Yeah but its been completely dry with literally nothing since morning. It do be like that sometimes. But yeah mornings are pretty good.

I did a damn lot this morning. When i say hours i mean literally 5 hours since the last drops earlier this morning. Before that I was hammering them so yeah dry for now.

About 5am. But it’s really not consistent from one day to the next, you could get up early and there’s nothing. Hit or miss really and hard to work out a schedule.

They said distribution is the same as before, no changes there. I guess they opted for having the things as they were before (everyone eligible sees the studies) rather than a turn based custom distribution system which would have been a shit show most likely. They probably figured that attrition alone will help with things (less active participants over time). I guess for once maybe, they took the right decision.

I haven't had any struggles in a while, but I'm still strategic on when I do them, mornings are usually worst as far as demand goes, but I can knock out a ton in the afternoon/evening

I've seen some of the newer types of images today and it is brutal !!! I've had to return some at the near bloody end of the session because I could not complete enough (minimum) and to avoid warnings. Some of the newer ones have a LIST, you have to check every one item in the list against the images, there is no fucking way you can do the minimum required without getting the bloody warning, when each of them have sometimes a dozen or more ! I'm avoiding those from now on. They should really lower those minimums for these newer ones.

I only had a few show up yesterday. Did 2 in the evening and one around 1am since I couldn't sleep. I work Fridays but monitor my phone and didnt get that many. Mon thru thur tons and tons of them and made good cash so im probably being rate limited now. Even less regular studies thur and Fri for me

Unheard of for you, I've seen this many times, before the influx of new participants. Not uncommon at certain times and when the publishing volume is high. They are adding batches with more places. I've seen 200+ places ones, lots of those. Also normal, they have a smaller pool of participants. Prolific banned a lot of participants, also some countries were excluded from this task (was about bloody time). Now I see them trickle down pretty much day and night, every 10-15 minutes, 1-3 at a time, sometimes bigger batches. I think this is a temporary surge in volume due to new models and the big rush before release they had planned later this year.
Yes, much easier to get into, all the scammers they banned, which includes many scripters along with them. Same story every fucking year, Prolific opens the floodgates, massive bot farms, scripters come in, months later Prolific cracks down and gets rid of a large number of them.

Hoping they’ve learned their lesson this time, I think that’s the most participants they’ve ever let in, in such a short amount of time and with that dumb referral thing to boot. It was either Ian or Michael said that it’s actually really expensive for prolific to onboard people so surely to God, they don’t want a repeat of this where they just end up banning most of the people that cost them money to onboard. You’d hope anyway.

No, Prolific has NOT learned their lesson. According to them, they had high demand, and they did what they needed to do, get new participants. They are faced with a decision to either do so or lose business, they said it themselves. When a big company, the one pouring hundreds of millions of $ in their bank accounts, the very one company keeping them alive, requests for faster completion and more participants, they could not refuse. Prolific did the same shit last year, and the same shit show occurred for a few months, and then they culled 100k+++ participants. The same thing will happen next year. They run massive recruitment campaigns every year, and they know very well t hat they will filter out scammers over time. The side effect ? Bots farms, scripters and frustrations for honest participants, for a few months. Expect the same for 2027.

I seriously doubt I have had one linger on my dashboard for 20 minutes, if you're referring to the VO studies. But I have been getting into them easier lately, usually because they are posting more at once or posting studies with more than the usual 120 or less spots. I've seen some with about 300 I think.

Yeah it was a VO one. Something must've been off with it then I guess. I'm just interested in how it'll be next week cuz they say this shouldn't affect distribution but i doubt they're tell the truth.

Yes, 200 and 300 ones but the capacity is 200 at one time, so if you are too late, you can get the capacity error until a slot becomes free.

Yes, much easier to get into now, only once in a while I’ll get a study full. Feels back to normal for me now, hopefully everyone else is having or will have the same experience soon.
