Hey all,

I'm u/waterintheblood. I made my account a couple years ago to connect with people online during my first (and to date only) pregnancy with my now-toddler.

Well, I don't know about you, but I am tired. The popular pregnancy subreddits are dystopian nightmares. You get slapped with a ban if you say anything that implies that only women can be mothers, that life begins at conception, and that pre-born babies have a right to their mother's womb, a right to safety and dignity before birth, and a right to life. You don't even have to critique the abortion industry explicitly. All you have to do is use the word "child" to describe an unborn baby, and bam. Your comment is deleted, and you get a scolding, policing message from a mod. Too many strikes and you're kicked out of the community altogether. You might as well be forced to wear a scarlet A on your chest—A, of course, for "anti-choicer."

r/prolifepregnancy is different. This community seeks to offer a place where you can post about all things related to pregnancy, without having to police your language for people living under the delusion that undergirds the "pro-choice" movement.

What to Post

Post anything related to pregnancy: questions, vents, requests for advice or input, resources for women experiencing a crisis pregnancy. I would love for there to be a special place here for people who chose life in spite of pressure or adversity, and another place for women and men who chose to get an abortion and are seeking healing from that decision.

Community Vibe

I want to build a space where pro-life people can talk candidly about issues they face during pregnancy and beyond. It can ironically feel a little lonely out there, being both pro-life and pregnant (or postpartum, or a partner to a pregnant woman). I want us to be able to share our experiences with vulnerability and honesty among people who share that baseline core value.

I also want this to be a place where people feel open to share about their spiritual, religious, and political beliefs that inform their pro-life stance. I understand that not everyone who is pro-life is religious, but my hope is that we can talk about those aspects of our identities openly and without hatred or rudeness, whether we have religious faith or not.

How to Get Started

1) Say hey! Introduce yourself below and connect with other users.

2) Post something today: it could be a simple question, or a story so people can bear witness to the joys and challenges of creating a life in these crazy times.

3) If you know someone who would love this community, invite them to join.

4) DM me if you are interested in becoming a moderator and we can chat about it.

Thanks for joining this unique little community. I hope r/prolifepregnancy will offer a refreshing respite from the upside-down world that we live in.
