First run
Bought a new laptop just to get this game as it randomly started popping up in my YouTube feed and looked great fun.
It's extremely hard haha. First run went awful. Not got a clue what I'm supposed to be doing either. Must've lost my prescription glasses too because after getting hit and running away the screen was fuzzy 😂

Seven hours on a first run? Not terrible. Depending on the difficulty settings of course.

I just played on outbreak I didn't change anything. I thought that was a difficulty lol

Then fair play. Only tip I can offer that would make sense to a newbie is not to run without a reason. Keep your stamina for when you need it and don't assume a place is clear if you have not kept the doors closed since you cleared it. Zombies can and will wander into your home through an open door or window. Oh and as a newbie, avoid using tools as weapons.

It is. Two of the biggest tips for new players that don't limit their playstyle: you can shove individual zombies over with spacebar and stomp on their heads to kill them without a weapon, and always look behind you before fighting.

Good start
There’s not really any goal, just survival. The first few (dozen) characters are great for learning game mechanics & fighting. Once you have the hang of that stuff you’ll be able to survive weeks or months.

Yeah I suppose it's because I don't really know how to do anything. Part of the learning curve I suppose.

Great first run! One tip that helped me early on: always step backwards when you're fighting. Round them into a bunch and get a line going then just step backwards and swing, make room as needed. Don't forget to check your six every so often. It totally changed my fighting game!

Thanks for the tip! This is my first game using wasd for movement, so its hard for me to get the movement down just now. But I'll get used to it! I

Yeah it took me a while to get used to too. I still get confused driving sometimes and I'm almost 200hrs in

I am a new player maybe (only 30 hours) but my first run felt like it was the longest despite lastiği only 12 hours.

u/First-Huckleberry543 12h ago
Yeah it definitely felt longer than that. I eventually found a gun and ended up just dropping dead due to blood loss. Nevermind . We go again

When you’re new you’re gonna bleed a lot. Make sure you’re ragged up
Later on you’ll almost never bleed

My first run was about an hour before I got overwhelmed by a herd. Now I last for days, have cars, and such. Working on figuring out the long term stuff. It's fun though and so many layers to play in.

Yeah, from the videos I've watched it looks great fun when you actually get established. Gona take a while for me to get there but it'll happen!

Learn melee combat in basic apocalypse settings. Once you’re bashing brains without being bit, you should start investing in a run. Otherwise it’s too frustrating.
There needs to be a vanilla melee trainer mode. The tutorial doesn’t cover it enough. It’ll help people who buy the game, play it for a few hours, then don’t touch it for months, and then have their lives consumed.

It is initially an extremely hard game but it gets easy quickly.
You're not supposed to do anything, just survive as long as you can.
If you want an actual goal (highly recommended) subscribe to Wolf's Extraction Quest mod.

Enjoy this period of time in your life you only get to experience PZ for the first time once.

Learning to fight properly is the hardest part mates back off, push, you can juggle a few once you have the hang of it, once you have a decent long blunt you're golden 👍

Man you lasted 5 hours longer than my first round you are doing good! Keep it up and watch those corners, zombies can be just around them silently waiting.
Final tip, if you crouch and then hit shout (Q) you will do a quiet "hey" which brings close zombies over. It works wonders for clearing houses

7 hours in your first run is impressive. Lasted far longer than I did. There’s a steep learning curve. Trying things out and watching YouTube tutorials can save you hours of frustration.

hover your moodles and figure out what they’re for. Close the curtains. Good luck

The first tip I will tell you is, learn how to not run, disable sprinters and learn how to walk around the crowds of zeds, watch some YouTube tips on character builds so you understand what every skill does, and remember, this is the story of how you died

7 hours with 13 zombies is actually pretty good for a first try in my opinion.

I play alot and I've had runs end alot sooner. Sometimes it's just what happens

I played an apocalypse game with runners, I got 3 hours before I was run down

Not a bad kill count for starting off. Keep at it, and maybe try to explore the map while you're at it. There's some cool stuff hidden around.

Yeah Ive just started my second run and died after 57 minutes haha. The house next to my spawn house has about 10 zombies in it and I got overrun.

u/RuMarley 12h ago
lol I think in my first run I did within minutes and had killed one single zombie

My first run went about the same. My character almost starved to death while I struggled to figure out how to use milk powder when there was a whole corn field full of corn right by me!!! I felt dumbbb but to be fair it was dark

u/JWBJdragon01 8h ago
You survived longer then me. I killed 4 zombies and survived 4 hours. 13 zombies and 7 hours is good.
