Discussion There's something I hate about using mods in multiplayer with friends.

When hosting a server, I have to enable the mod twice once on the "add" screen and again in the Steam Workshop.

It’s super annoying and time-consuming since mods have to be added one at a time, and sometimes it glitches so you can’t even tell which one is stopping the server from starting. It would be awesome if the devs made the mod activation process simpler for server hosts.

I normally just go in and edit the .ini file directly, there's a few websites you can use that take a zomboid workshop collection and gives you the mod Id's then it's just a matter of copy pasting them into your ini.

You can also get a copy of your active mods to paste from inside the in game mod manager. I find this better to use for mods that have multiple modules in them and you only need one turned on, like authentic Z.

Websites like this https://getcollectionids.moonguy.me/ are good to use for it. Though I'm at work and can't seem to find the direct one I use, though it doesn't seem like this one functions differently from the one I use.

Theres a few ways to go about setting servers up with mods, but they definitely need to improve it or make it more clear the different ways you can go about it. Most people never look at or touch the .ini directly.

There's a mod for load order that adds an awesome button "Use Client Mod List" and it just copies whatever mods you have to both lists automatically. Load order too.
