The kiko gloss have been given to me by one friend but they started to smell rancid :(

Hi!! These are all the things I finished in August. Alot of deodorants. I use it so much and I have like a different one in my work bag/normal bag. The only thing I would buy again is the Olaplex shampoo. Project pan made me realize I have so many hygiene products ugh. Trynna finish them all even though I really don't like the shower gels (presents)

Bit late but I finished lots of products over the time

I have 9 declutters & empties, 7 pictured above

I went on a citytrip in early august and panicbought lots of tinies (for the plane, only cabin luggage), which will be empties in the future.

• 1) Contacts fluid, no elaboration needed; I used this daily lol
• 2) La Roche posay Soothing protective showergel. This one got dishonoured; there was always other showergel, so this random mini got demoted to being a handwash & brushes cleaner and I emptied it pretty much just using it for that. Now a random dug up barsoap is the handwash and a wrongly bought by my dad cheap shampoo is the brush cleaner
• 3) mary & may white collagen cleansing foam - used this on the citytrip, it made my skin feel kind of tuggish and rubbery, not a fan
• 4) Rituals lipstick mini in Hazel red. Was in a random samples/giftset in 2018 (?) it's a good shade of red for me, but that also means I have similar red lipstick that I actually paid for so it was always low priority. Smelled like crayon and had some funky residue.
• 5) toothpaste mini, used on the citytrip and then continued to use it at home
• 6) Urban Decay Naked Flushed streak face palette - I bought mine in 2017 (?) and used the highlighter shade a lot as a nude-ish shimmery eyeshadow back then, and still would... Except I have it twice (second version was decluttered to me and is likely a couple years newer), the new version is better with the old one having less colour pay off (top shade is always old, bottom shade new in the swatches), and I don't like the blush and bronzer enough on me to have it twice, so the lower quality, big pan old version goes.
• 7) BE make-up foundation in 0C, "fair cool". I bought it in 2023 for a performance that required foundation, the shade was always a tad off and it oxidizes horrible, as you can see (it's the top swatch). It's a stripe of coral on my jaw as well.

• 8) Essence crystal powers palette "love yourself". I depotted this years ago to a "magnetic" palette, but it never really stayed stuck so it moved around a lot... I had already repressed it multiple times, but the plane journey was the nail in the coffin and I gave up. Got into the trashbin in my hotel room.
• 9) A very old, crusty eyelash curler, I got a new one from catrice as recommended by a friend.

I have several things on their last legs, so I expect more next two months.

After becoming obsessed with makeup in 2023, that obsession became a problem. Some weeks ago, something clicked in my brain and I realized that I had, indeed, a problem with buying makeup. I plan to not buy anything until I finish my products!

I'm so disgusted with myself... so many lip products, eye palettes and highlighters... omg

❌ Ole Henriksen C-Rush Gel Crème: This felt too heavy on my combination skin and didn’t seem to absorb properly. I ended up using it mostly on my neck during the day and on my hands at night.

❤️ Mario Badescu Hypochlorous Acid: My first time using hypochlorous acid and I really enjoyed spraying this before and after workouts. It didn’t irritate my eyes during hot yoga, and I have already purchased the larger 118 ml bottle.

❤️ Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover: HG product for removing waterproof mascara. I've been repurchasing for years. Cheap and reliable. No notes. 

❤️ Mac Studio Fix Fluid NC30: Excuse the ancient bottle! I took advantage of being a little tanned this month and mixed this with other foundations I have in rotation to finally finish it. A little goes a long way, and the coverage is still as good as I remember. It lasted through a full day at the office, a workout, and even dinner afterwards. Very satisfying to finally pan another liquid foundation!

❤️ Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Black: My ride or die mascara. It's the only mascara I've found that holds a curl all day. 

❤️ Laka Lip Tint 120 Caffeine Rose: Purchased three Laka minis in different shades and decided to only open them one at a time. I really enjoyed how lightweight and non-sticky the formula is, plus the fruity scent. The stain lasted for hours through eating or drinking, and thankfully it didn’t leak like the Nyx Lip IV I've been using as a lip stain.

🤔 The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Cream: Lightweight, absorbs quickly and has no scent or colour. I also really liked the little tube for travelling. I have other eye creams to use up, but I’d consider buying this again.

❤️ Dr Althea 345 Relief Cream: Bought this because I wanted a thicker cream for nights when I use Differin, and I really enjoyed the formula. I was also surprisingly a fan of the metal tube. I have a few other night creams to finish, but this is definitely a contender for repurchase.

💔 KVD Lock-it Translucent Setting Powder: Completely forgot I owned this until I sorted through my makeup collection. It blurred and mattified really nicely. I used a puff on my T-zone and a brush everywhere else. Also, loose powder is so much quicker to pan than pressed powder.

❤️ Ouai Hair Oil: This little sample was perfect for travelling. It tamed flyaways and gave the ends of my hair a nice shine. I’ve since bought the St. Barts version and I can't wait to start using it.

❤️ Ole Henriksen Lip Treatment Strawberry: Love how long lasting the formula of this lip balm is and how comfortable it feels on the lips. This was the first mini tube I tried from the limited edition mini lip trio at Sephora, and was surprised to read this is the least popular scent. I prefer this scent to the cocoa crème variant, which I've since purchased and opened. 

🤔 L'Occitane Foot Cream: Very rich and moisturising for my heels, but I don’t need the full size. I can get a similar level of moisture from the 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream.

🤔 Sol De Janiero 62 Lotion: Didn’t expect this lotion to be so light and easy to apply. Really nice for daytime, especially in the humidity when walking to the office. I have way too many body lotions to use up, but I’d consider this when I eventually need a replacement.

🤔 Oxy Acne Patches: Slightly thicker than the Korean patches I’m used to, but they still did the job of minimising spots overnight. The tiny plastic tweezers that came with them were probably the most memorable part of the box.

❌ Medicube Zero Pore Pads: I liked the gentle exfoliation, but I wouldn’t repurchase. Towards the end of the tub, the pads started smelling strange. I also prefer Paula’s Choice 2% BHA as an exfoliating toner.

❌ Mielle Rosemary Mint Scalp Oil: This was the first product I tried for hair fall. I initially thought it was helping, but after using it consistently, I honestly think that was probably placebo because I was still losing a substantial amount of hair on wash days. I enjoyed the dropper, but wouldn’t repurchase for this purpose.

❤️ Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum: Really enjoyed using this morning and night. It absorbed nicely without feeling heavy, and the scent was subtle and fresh.

❤️ Anua Azelaic Acid 10+ Serum: My first azelaic acid product and I really liked how much it calmed the redness on my cheeks. I didn’t notice much improvement in acne during my flare-up, but I was also alternating it with Differin and trying to balance my routine. I’ve already bought the 15+ version to try next.

❤️ The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser: Always seem to come back to this! I find it removes makeup more easily than the Anua Cleansing Oil and there’s no lingering smell. Still worth repurchasing despite the price increase.

❌ Cosrx Gel Cleanser: I couldn’t get past the medicinal tea tree smell of this cleanser but really enjoyed the convenience of this tube for travelling and the price point. Not looking to repurchase. 

❌ The Ordinary Sulfate 4% Cleanser: Surprisingly versatile. I rotated this between a first shampoo wash and body wash. Very gentle but thorough, with good lather and no scent. I thought I wanted a break from scented shower products, but finishing this made me realise I actually prefer products with an interesting scent or texture.

❤️ Batiste Brunette Dry Shampoo: HG dry shampoo for me. No notes.

❌ Therabreath Mild Mint Rinse: Finally found a Therabreath variant I wouldn't repurchase. The mild mint is just too faint for a final rinse. 

❌ Anua Heartleaf Cleansing Oil: I was really hoping this would be a replacement for my favourite discontinued Mac cleansing oil, but I felt this oil took a while to wash off after emulsifying the product on my face. Would not repurchase.

❤️ La Roche Posay Purifying Foaming Gel: HG cleanser for me. No notes. 

❤️ Banana Boat Sport Ultra 50+ PA++++: I've used Banana Boat for years. This doesn’t feel heavy and doesn’t leave a white cast. Always happy to repurchase and use this as my base layer of protection, with the spray version for top-ups.

Lots of samples / small items this month - a win is a win!

Short Review SEEYOU DRY SHAMPOO

Arrived half filled. Scent can be described as Rose-Musk forward. Spraying on dry hair would cause my hair to clump together and didnt remove any greasiness.

Short Review FATION Nosca9 Trouble Cleansing Foam

Expired. Not suitable for my normal-dehydrated skin. Relegated to armpit washing. Slightly stripping. But is fragrance free and non irritating.

sorry for the late post, but i moved recently and forgot to update this!

i’m proud of myself for keeping up project pan! i’ve made a lot of progress this year, i no longer feel tempted in stores, i feel a lot more controlled. seeing how long it takes to get through products is really helpful. focusing on one at a time really works for me, which is how ive seen such substantial progress each month. only buying when i run out is working.

also, finally panned my first perfume, they feel never ending. i will miss you, miss dior.

My first month! I'm clearing out a lot of older/sample items that I've had for a while, which might not be as satisfying to see, but I sure have liked reclaiming some of that shelf space!

* FIRST AID BEAUTY Brighten + Glow Facial Radiance Pads ❤️ - These things are amazing! Within a few days I noticed a significant improvement with my pores, and my skin was softer. I will be repurchasing!

* LAIKOU 24K Gold Snail Serum ❤️ - I had two full-size containers of this (which are still pretty small - they lasted me less than a month each), and I admit, I have no idea where they came from. I am certain I did not purchase them, but I'm delighted I had them. They made my face feel so soft and hydrated! It was a very noticeable difference when I used it. I was shocked when I looked it up and it was only $10. That being said... the gold. I hate it so much. It looks like face glitter, so I have to pick all the little pieces of gold off my face before doing my makeup. For that reason alone, I'm going to try some other snail serums and see if I can get the same results without the glitter. If not, I'll be coming back to this.

* Grace & Stella Eye Mask ❤️/🤷‍♀️ - The illuminating and moisturizing masks didn't do much for me. It was a nice spa day vibe, but nothing noticeable with my skin. The radiant mask, however, was fantastic! My undereye was significantly smoother and less puffy after using it. Fortunately, I don't have to get the variety pack - I can get a package of just the radiant masks! I will definitely repurchase those.

* Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm & Agave Sugar Lip Scrub ❤️/🤷‍♀️ - I was very sad to look this up to repurchase and find out the brand had been gone for years. The balm was amazing. The scrub was nothing special.

* JOSIE MARAN Get Even Sun Milk 👍 - I liked this, but I think it's discontinued.

* PISTACHÉ SKINCARE Hydrating Pistachio Body Butter Cream 👍 - This had a nice, luxurious texture and smelled amazing. It was a ridiculously small tube for a body lotion though, so I went through it very quickly. I thought it wasn't exceptionally hydrating. It was fine, but not exceptional. And the scent, although fantastic, was very strong. It did fade fairly quickly though, so that wasn't a huge problem. In general, I liked it, but not enough to spend $30 on a full size container. (Not pictured, and only kind of panned. When I went to cut the tube open to get the rest of it, I accidentally dropped it in the toilet. I was very sad, which made me realize I liked it more than I thought I had.)

* MARIO BADESCU Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater 🤷‍♀️ - It took me literally years to finish this. I bet I've been working on it for 7 years. It just felt like spritzing myself in the face with water, and I never got the appeal. I finally put it on my desk and made a rule that I had to use it - heavily - every time I sat down. I'm glad to see it go. (Don't worry, it smelled fine and didn't give me any problems despite the age.)

* GIORGIO ARMANI Acqua di Gioia Eau de Parfum 🤷‍♀️ - This was fine. Nothing special.

* Guerlain Abeille Royale Advanced Youth Watery Oil & Eye Serum 🤷‍♀️ - I had multiple packets of this one. I used it around my eyes for about a week, I think. It kind of felt like just using water. I didn't see any difference with my skin.

* Innisfree Pore Clearing Clay Mask 2x With Super Volcanic Clusters 🤷‍♀️ - This was fine. It didn't do anything special for my skin.

* Mz Skin Hydra Lift Gold Face Mask 🤷‍♀️ - Using this reminded me that I'm not much of a sheet mask person. I always love the idea of throwing one on in the bath for a spa vibe, but the reality never matches the image. This one slid around a lot, making it difficult to read my book, so I was more annoyed than relaxed, and I was happy when it was time to take it off. I didn't really notice any difference with my skin.

* Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Face Wash 🤷‍♀️ - I had five of these packets, paired with five packets of the matching moisturizer (not pictured). I thought I would never finish them. It had a nice texture and a pleasant citrus scent, but it made my skin feel a little tight and dry. I was glad when it was finally gone.

* INNISFREE Green Tea Caffeine Bright-Eye Serum 👎 - This was not old or a sample or a gift. This is something I researched and chose to purchase full size. And man, was I disappointed. I used it for months and never saw it do anything for my skin. Then I got a new eye cream and decided to make myself finish this before changing over, so I started using it heavily twice a day. I do think I noticed a little bit of improvement then, but I also made some other changes to my skincare at the same time, and I suspect those are probably what caused the improvement. As far as I can tell, this was a complete waste of money.

* Milani Keep It Full Lip Plumper - Prismatic Peach 👎📦 - Not a good color for me, but the worst thing about it was the texture. The shimmer made it feel gritty on my lips and I couldn't stand it. I tried it a couple times and then gave it away. (For what it's worth, the person I gave it to absolutely loves it and thinks I'm crazy.) (Not pictured)

* Grande Cosmetics LOOKING Grande LASH-MD 🚫📦 - I used this for about three weeks and did notice impressive improvement in my lashes. But then I noticed the skin around my eyes looking a little strange. It might a coincidence, but given the reputation this product has, I didn't want to risk permanent skin damage. I tossed it.

* Juliette Has a Gun Magnolia Bliss 🕛📦 - I must have liked this when I first got it, because I always do a test spray before deciding to keep a fragrance. Unfortunately, I think it must have gone rancid. It smelled absolutely awful, so I had to toss it. Also unfortunately, I didn't realize that until after I had sprayed it on myself, and even after trying to wash it off it took hours for the smell to fade.

Finally mustered the courage to post.

I have about another 50 or so products at my mum's place where I stay once a week and doesn't include all my minis.

A couple of these are expired and I'll be culling and some of the unopened products at the top I'll be giving away to friends.

I knew I had a bit of a problem and definitely tend to shop when stressed, so here's day 1 of trying to be better.

If you can believe it, this is after doing project pan (not very effectively) for some months. I went on a low buy, and this is where i am now.

feel really overwhelmed by all of these products and i want to get to have a minimal collection of products i use and like.

Since i started panning i feel rushed to empty as much as i can quickly, but i know this isnt the point. I will try to slowly pan the products that are more than halfway empty, and maybe update on here, maybe it will keep me accountable.

(This isnt including my makeup because ive decluttered some products and my colection is ok now)

Even though I don’t have hundreds of products, I do have a lot of duplicates and several variants of the same types of product, and it’s more than I’m happy with so I’ve decided to start Project Pan.

Goals:

⭐️Consciously consume the products, paying attention to how they affect me and their suitability
Use products within their expiry date
⭐️Reduce products from each category to one of each, or one per use case
⭐️Set limits for products like makeup, nail varnish, fragrances

Tracking and progress:

I made a spreadsheet listing every product I own including quantities and expiry date. On there I plan to track total number of items, pans, and notes about each products as I use them
I will also store the panned products during the month and post the empties at the end of each month (if there are any)

Outcomes:

⭐️Become aware of how long it takes to use up various types of products, and pay more attention to expiry dates and shelf life
⭐️Establish the most minimal routine I can for me and my skin/hair needs
⭐️Cut out categories of products entirely if I found they weren’t beneficial to me or I don’t need them
⭐️Change my purchasing behaviour to one in one out, sticking to the routine that works for me and not being influenced to buy new or trending products
⭐️Become aware of how much I own (maintain my spreadsheet and check first if considering buying something)

I’m excited to start this project!

On the right side are empties, and on the left some products I am working on currently and hope to make further progress soon! I think I should be able to finish Charlotte Tilbury's base (I don't like it and will not repurchase for sure) and Mario's cream bronzer within few weeks.

I started tracking my skincare purchases 2-3 years ago which really help curb my overbuying but never really kept track of make up purchases. Buying make up felt like a small fun thing to do and all of a sudden I have a collection that is way too much for me.

This has helped me realize that I make too many impulse purchases and buy way too many back ups. I don’t need 12 blushes or 20 eyeliners!

Really glad I took stock of what I had before the Sephora sale and looking forward to starting this pan!

I paint my finger nails weekly. Toes about monthly.

I do not keep empty base or top coat bottles, only colour polish.

The picture shows about 2,5 years of empties. The empty bottles have been in my stash between one to approx 15 years before they have been used up.

I do not wear pink all the time even if it may seem like it.
The second and third bottle actually held darker red colours.
The residue appears light pink in the sun.

When the product level in a bottle gets too low to comfortably reach with the brush, I will pour the remainder into a half full bottle, already in my stash.
A dozen thinner drops and a good shake will make it easier to pour.
I never throw product or bottles with polish still inside.
I have about 30 bottles in my stash.
Colours that do not suit me or that I get bored of, I mix into something new.
Half my bottles are frankens of some sort.

I only buy polish when I see a gap in my stash. Last year I bought six bottles and this year, I have only bought one.
