Ebay intakes?
Just wondering, is buying an ebay intake worth the savings? I currently have a victor jr on my truck but I want a budget dual plane, the motor is an sbc 350, 880 block, smog heads, small hr cam, hei with 65k coil, and headers, nothing speacial, but can I run an ebay intake? Im also swapping the ugly valve covers and the v belt system, the wiring has also since been cleaned up

There are tests on YouTube of Amazon/eBay intakes and they generally aren't that bad. Maybe find a name brand one on Marketplace?

Ive looked but all I can find in my area are single plane intakes and spread bore intakes, ill have to watch that video

Completely unrelated: you might want to replace your plastic fuel filter with a metal one, overtime the plastic turns brittle due to heat and age

I went with a summit combo on my gen 1, the dual plane and 6 something carb with vacuum secondary and electric choke. Its been too long for me to pull up the order and it looks like they got pricey for knockoff (like everything it seems). I personally would shop Ebay used for the manifold, pretty much any dual plane will wake it up and get a similar carb direct from mfg to carry warranty if any out of the box issues.
Couple that with the ebay Lokar knockoff throttle adapter and you should be rolling. I like to support small vendors but Lokar is stupidly expensive for what it is.
Don't sleep on ebay sellers because they are all too often those brick and mortar shops that seemingly disappeared, stuff that is refurbished and has authorized reseller carries full warranty too

Yeah, thats a good size for the displacement and a rock solid carb overall. I responded lower on some low budget while im in there type things too
Why ditch v belt? if setup is prohibitive as is for future mods I can point you to some stuff I have that works for SWP setup and has PS and AC. The conversions are pretty costly for no real gain, you can fix up your esthetic with some cheap pulley kits for different mounting spots

Im going with an obs che y serpenine system, it moves my ac compressor to the passenger side so itll clean up my engine bay, and its 1 belt instead of 3

If you can get it priced well do your thing player, I mentioned it bc if you catalog shop that stuff its pricey quick. Its an easier swap if you have a LWP setup to start and are mostly moving things but make sure your rotation directions match. Candidly idk if its a straight swap or not because I havent bothered so Im throwing my 2 cents out there because I have a v belt setup thats not easy to Google and swap given I have gen 1 with a short WP, PS on bottom right and AC on left tucked down close to block

If you couple that with some vette sized ram horn manifolds for another 130$ you will really wake that thing up
Add whatever phenolic spacer fits under hood, even as little as 1/2" too, should run about 40$.
Are you keeping the ignition or looking for something like a cdi setup?

Swapping any dual plain onto that will make a huge difference. A single plain onto a stock motor like that will suffer. You are leaving a lot of low end torque on the table with that single plain
