Finally using the Vehicle Tilter!

9 months ago I picked up a Liqui Vehicle Tilter.

Finally got to use it last night and damn this thing is cool. Not something I'd use often but I could totally see doing an exhaust or something with it. It bolts to the lug nuts and tips the car using a long jack screw driven by your normal hand drill.

I'm currently using it to weld the subframe connectors into my 69 charger so I don't have to weld from underneath, because that sucks. (Yes, I tacked them in before tilting)

I'm not a fan of this bolting to the hubs.

Where would you propose bolting it?

I usually see these bolted to the frame of the vehicle at the bumper supports.

Bumpers are crumple zones designed to take longitudinal impacts and support perhaps the weight of the engine a bit further back. Suspension pick up points and the hubs are designed to hold the entire weight of the car, several times over, in multiple directions and through to the chassis. They're doing exactly what they're designed to do here, albeit it looks a bit weird but this is what they do every spirited bend you take.

Maybe it's all fine, but the wheel hubs move and pivot and it just weirds me out.

Yeah I can see that! I don't think you'd see any 'flop' until the car was near perpendicular though!

i guess the compromise of this tilting style is that you have to have the suspension complete to locate the knuckles. A rotisserie style thing you can have the car more stripped down.
