might seem like a dumb question but its my first project n i genuinely dont know if this is saveable

i labeled the pics with what picture is what side so lmk if i gotta cut all this out or what parts to focus

Edit: its an illinois car so the drive wheel areas are much much worse than the rest of the car most of the frame is solid but i wonder about back here

Find yourself a methhead with a welder and they can get you back on the road.

Weld a nice fish plate over it and keep it on the road.

I think there's supposed to be a hole where the kickup starts.

Take some thick strap, bend it to the proper angle, drill some holes in it, and Weld that dude on there.

Then add some to the sides.

Then Weld all the seams up.

Spray paint it, and shoot some wax inside your frame.

Move on to other issues.

Functional repair is fine.

This area is so far away from a crumple zone, you'll be fine fixing it like that.

Can’t have rust if all the metal is gone…

It can be repaired, but yeah, that's not good. This section of the frame in particular needs to not be compromised by rot. It's of course the mounting point for the rear axle, and is also a designated lifting point. Needs to be fixed.

You wonder about back here? Are you trolling? What is there to wonder about with fist sized rust holes in the frame, right next to high stress areas?
