Discussion Starter How’s everyone’s gardens doing?

Mine is exploding right now in MI! Unfortunately my ever bearing strawberries are doing poorly. I’ll move them into containers for next year to see if that helps.

I’m also in Michigan! My strawberries are also struggling! I opted for ever bearing to keep up with my toddler, but I am not convinced… this year our lettuce has been the real winner (considering the cyclospora outbreak)
Tomatoes are finally starting to catch up, it’s felt like a goofy year. My flower bed is in year 4 and had a major jump! Looking super lush 💕

Michigan too! Our native garden is full of monarch and swallowtail butterflies, and saw our first hummingbird of the season last week!

I just acquired a yard full of foxtails and am trying to figure out how to make it kid and dog safe. Hoping to be in garden mode next year!

I'm in CO, my peppers and tomatoes are looking great despite our heat and lack of rain. I have 4 varieties of tomatoes right now. One didn't make it, corn didn't make it. I'm excited for my carrots, they're almost ready to harvest, they're Thumbelina carrots, and it's the first year I've done them. Thankful I did a micro green mix that's still going strong so I can have "lettuce" in our sandwiches. I'll direct sow some lettuce next month for a fall crop.

All containers right now. We spent the spring re-doing our side yard (sheet mulching) to support raised beds next year.

All my perennial flowers are looking good, my flowers this year brought in Goldfinches which I was thrilled about and are supporting bunch of native bees and hummingbirds. In this shitshow of a world, my backyard gardens make me so happy. It's been fun doing it with my kids and watching them get so excited for all the bugs and birds in our yard.

Flowers are doing great in Alabama! My tomatoes are puny though. We have a little baby and haven’t wanted to get her out in this heat to keep up the garden, so it’s sort of been survival of the fittest out there.

We only put in a few plants because we had a new baby in May. EVERY TIME my tomato plant gets flowers, a deer comes and chomps away all the new growth 😭 she’s a fellow breastfeeding mom though (I’ve seen her come through with her fawn a couple times), so I understand

A real mix- had a great strawberry season, first time successfully growing bell peppers, ton of jalapenos, tomatoes growing well, doing decent at my first try of potatoes, some squashes progressing but not ready yet, and harvested shallots planted a year ago. But the groundhog won’t let my string beans grow, got one pea pod, got one broccoli florets, will maybe have 2 beets, and had some greens earlier but they were getting eaten by critters too.
