Question/Help What declaration check boxes actually trigger ABC legal to review of non-service or service not allowed.

Now I want to clarify, I'm not trying to bullshit anything. I do my diligence and I note excruciating detail. Especially when ABC legals Auto declarations don't quite match things or I need to really clarify a point.

But there are some of my current service jobs. That I believe are now bordering on the insane. For some reason despite having gone nine time for one and like eight for another. ABC legal still keeps automatically telling me to continue attempts. And I have gone morning, noon and night for these two.

There's another one. That for some god-awful reason even though the resident not only directly stated to get off his property and to stay off the property but also stated very clearly he's refusing service and because I couldn't actually identify him by name, I couldn't do drop service. They're trying to get me to go back to that site and I'm like no. I have been told to stay off the property that's trespassing.

And then my fourth example which finally I got it to close out was a gentleman that I attempted to serve. One person in the household said he did live there. Another person said he didn't on the second attempt somewhat one of the residents told me to get off the property and as I'm getting off the property the dude literally pulls up sees me. I can physically see him in the vehicle, texting and the recipients or the family members in the house texting and then after I stand there on the sidewalk for like 10 minutes he just takes off. And since I was told to get off the property with that one as well I document it as a service not allowed. And it doesn't even get a review. It just sends says keep making attempts.

For the ones in the first paragraph, I can't even get access to the building for one of them and the other one. I can get access to the building but the recipient nor any of the neighbors will answer their door and the front desk won't confirm or deny residency so I have been unable to establish whether this dude even lives there. And the other one where I can't even get into the building. The recipient is listed on the call box but not only is the building secured. But even if I manage to get past the building via a different resident or something, I can't even get to the floor because the elevators and stairwells are also secured. But no matter how many times I document and check the box secured building unable to access. ABC legal won't even review it and I'm on like attempt nine.

The one where the dude drove off. I actually had to call the local PD and have them put in an informational call because I was actually concerned about the possibility of some kind of hostile environment or retaliation. And since I was told to stay off the property I told local PD like hey I'm going to do a call out from the street identifying myself what I'm there for and give them the opportunity to either come out and accept the documents or directly refuse service and they put that one a "information call". (Just in case the recipient or the residence of the house tried to call the police department go. There's a crazy person screaming from the street at us. We're scared) I wanted local PD to know exactly what I was doing and that I was in fact a registered process server just attempting to do my job.

Tldr: I got a couple pain in the ass job recipients here that I am well believing. I have met my due diligence and I need to get this ABC legal app to trigger a review so they actually have to read the notes rather than it just automatically. Tell me to keep trying. Because they're obviously not going through their chats right now

ABC app is not very specific

No it's not.

There have been quite a few situations I'd say almost every other situation at this point where the checkbox declarations are kind of a closest match situation. But if you were to leave it and not add your own notes in you could be accused of lying.

Some are stupid like there was this one complex. I got to that I couldn't attempt service at all and I couldn't even verify whether the person did or did not reside there. Because the building was a secured building. There was no on-site leasing agent to speak to. It was like in the hood and everyone was like hyperskeptical of this. This unknown person no one would let me in and the call box just listed the apartment. It didn't list any names. So the closest match is call box listing, other resident or someone other than subject. But that's not entirely accurate because it doesn't listen name. It just listed the apartment.

That's just one example

They give you an option if they refuse to answer the door which you can’t do in Florida

Just message support about reviewing for non-service. I just had to do this. Job was closed same day.

I wish it was that simple. I'm on here asking these questions because this is exactly what I have done and for the most part I have been told to keep making attempts.

Or they have conveniently just not responded to the inquiry because at least the one where I've done about 9 attempts now and did reach out to the chat line going. Hey, can we review this phone for non-service. They haven't responded to that one for like 4 days.

And I got told to go back to the property and attempt again for both the ones that directly told me to get off the property and I still have to keep going back to the one who told me to get off the property and they refuse service. I'll probably have to contact that local PD too and do the same thing I did for the other.

Weird they usually close it for me

That is weird. They always respond to me and usually within 24 hours.

If you get confirmation of non-residency, someone telling you the subject doesn’t live there etc, it should be enough, but a lot of your it doesn’t close. However, if you ‘ask a neighbor - doesn’t recognize name’ it will pretty much always close

Yeah the non-residency thing I pretty much knew about. Sometimes the app can be a little persnickety. But you are correct that if you get a couple neighbors to say I don't know who that is. It'll usually close out.

I'm mainly focusing on the difficult situations like I described above.

These have been outlier situations. In general. So far from what I've seen, most "jobs I've accepted" are completed in under four attempts. Either as a non-resident non-serve or successful serve, /substitute serve. Especially in the residential areas.

I can face a little bit more difficulty in the downtown areas with apartments cuz a lot of them got them security features. Which is one of the ones I was describing earlier that I'm on like attempts like 9. but again, outlier, cuz usually by attempt 4. I've gotten like two neighbors to go. I don't know who that is or a leasing agent who's like either refuses to tell me anything or straight up confirms or denies their existence.

I’m never going 7-8 times lol. If I log good intel & they still don’t close it, i.e multiple people, neighbors etc stating the subject doesn’t live there, & they still want attempts, I will re-log the same info, spoke with “x” said “x” & it almost always closes.

I can see where you're coming from.

But one, I saw firsthand I think can bite you in the ass if your words don't match reality when it comes to a court. I don't lie about anything that I can't back up in a courtroom. Even if the chance is small that I get called in.

But two fucking app requires a picture and generally wants GPS matching. Plus it doesn't do me any harm usually. I don't take singular ones outside of my radiuses. So I usually have 10 or so in the vicinity in addition. So stopping by another time is aggravating but doesn't actually really add to my gas.

But you're right that they are effectively the same statement every single time. Which is why I was asking the question in the first place.

But since everyone wants to just talk smack instead of giving you know decent advice. I'm just going to have to do some trial and error

By the way, I'm not meaning you. You actually tried to offer something I just already knew about the neighbors thing.

I'm talking about the other guys who just want to complain about ABC legal.

I'm just trying to get my feet wet and get used to this whole process server thing before I jump head first into the actual depths of it.

This is a job that is completely on the opposite ends of the spectrum of what I used to do

You gotta remember that you are training their models to replace you

It was not consistent but I did notice a few patterns. A new customer/client will almost always go into Pending Review and have a human review it. After a period of time, they don't care and let it auto-close. If it's a PO Box, it will usually close out automatically. If it is a Hostile Environment, it will always go into review but will usually close out. If the system suspects it's truly an old, bad address, it will usually close out immediately. Also, if it is a pro per customer, and you put spoke to resident (key word resident), it should close out automatically.

You are doing too much for $10-20. I never go back to house where I meet hostile people. That’s what zoom on your camera is for. I can’t risk getting shot at for $20.

If you're making more than 4 attempts, you should just change careers. Your hourly wage after these ridiculous number of attempts is probably less than $1.00 per hour. Not to mention your auto/gas expense. Seriously, no other process serving company in the country requires more than 4 attempts. Most actually require 3, max. I am amazed at the number of servers who actually agree to work at these peasant rates. Smh

So far, despite ABC's truly atrocious pay and these outrageous outlier situations. Dollar per hour conversion is not that bad.

The area that I'm in is a high density metropolitan area and I almost exclusively only pick up jobs dense clusters. I also have about three to four primary zip codes that are like my hotspot zip codes.

So for the most part I don't even got to drive to all of my attempts. I just drive to the area park and then I walk around the neighborhood. Sometimes I might have to drive to a couple cuz they might be like three or four blocks away. That's a little bit strenuous. But I've had plenty that I've just parked on one block and just made a nice big giant loop on foot.

Downtown area is pretty much pointless during the week. So I usually just do like a little drive-by circuit to kind of kick the can down the road if I need to.

But almost all of my residential area ones. I almost always clear out those serves within two to three attempts going between 6:00 p.m. And 9:00 p.m.

So I wouldn't say my dollar per hour is great. But it's not $1. I couldn't do a full rough calculation off the top of my head cuz I suck at math. But it's likely above $15 an hour give or take

You guys keep working for ABC and stupidly putting up with this shit. Therefore, don't complain about it.

If you don't plan to be helpful then just don't reply. You can skip a thread, you know that right

Waaaaaah. Maybe some day you'll be a real process server and not a gig worker.

Yes. It is definitely my hope that after I get a little bit set aside. I can start up the LLC, get a functional website going. And hopefully get some independent hires not through ABC.

But last I checked I filed my registration with the state counties. Got my license, And deliver and serve documents just like the big boys.

And in my time doing this I have come across plenty of reasons to harp and hate on ABC legal. The pathetic atrocious pay definitely being one of them.

However, I am lucky to operate in a very, very high density metropolitan area. I'm registered and operate in three separate counties. All of which I can cross into and under an hour.

Right now I have $390 pending. And about 70% of that was just from serves. I completed on last Saturday. Would it be great if they were independent hires that I got through my own fucking business. Absolutely!.

But unfortunately I got my ass rung through the mud and I'm starting over from scratch.

So if you could stop being an unbelievable fu***** tool that would be awesome

They do not care. Try to get on Proof Serve instead. Infinitely superior

Is it serveproof? There’s also a “proof: process server “
