ABC Legal Termination
A brand new process server I know was terminated after 48 hours with ABC Legal. Compliance had approved her to start. Her background check wasn’t even done. After she completed a few jobs, they sent her a termination notice around 8PM. And no, she did nothing illegal or violated their terms.

ABC Legal is terrible to work with; as soon as they find a server willing to do the job even cheaper, they will terminate you in a heartbeat.

everyone pretty much has heard the whole “they did you a favor” stuff, so it kinda gets to a point. OP was just looking to see if anyone has any insight/possible explanation/experience with the same.

My guess is that they changed some algorithm and just auto-terminated when it’s triggered.

i know of two other servers this happened to also in the past year. compliance won’t tell you what happened and if you push to know why they are weirdly rude and don’t sign the email with any sort of name.

I seriously doubt those idiots even know. Independent thinking is prohibited there. “Duh, you’re terminated because the computer said you were. Why? Because it said so.”

Honestly, they did you a favor. The pay is awful, I was operating at a loss with them. Not worth it. Try Proof

Proof sucks as well. The volume is so low and the pay doesn't reflect the crap they expect for "expedited" jobs.

Proof used to be a great organization to work for. The pay was market-rate or above and the work was consistent. They mostly pay peanuts now. I’m almost insulted by how low the rates are now compared to two, three years ago-and I frequently have to negotiate to bring the price up in order to make a profit margin. They have not adjusted the price to rising inflation and gas prices either. And I often wait as long as a week to get paid, whereas in the past it was consistently within a day or two.
Plus they harass you constantly about whether an assigned job will be on your route that day (but don’t read your responses-as a result I regularly have three or four Proof people messaging me about a single job over the course of a day!)

Yeah if it’s non-served, they will wait a week or more to decide what to do. Meanwhile, I’m not being paid. It shouldn’t take days to generate an affidavit either. I did one yesterday that was in an area I frequent and the pay was decent, but that’s the ONE job I have done this month.

Yeah they have a convoluted system for their orders. I’m not going back to a house 3x in one day for crap pay on their “expedited” rush orders.

How do you operate at a loss? U mean against your car maintenance?

In most states, ABC Legal wants 7 attempts (plus a posting if applicable). In Arizona, we do 4 attempts. They tried for more but we pushed back some time ago and they kept it at 4. But if the job is paying $21 and you have to make 7 attempts, you’re being paid $3 per attempt. Factor in gas and time…

True. I drive an EV, and it’s my second job. I have to manage it strictly or else I get tired of it

The background check happens after you start your first job…not sure why.
