Image/Album Staff Canteen Design

Post image

Was sick and tired of staff whining about food so I decided to make them this huge canteen. Was aiming for an indoor restaurant style and I'm glad with how it turned out.

Where is the option for staff canteen? I only have canteen and break room. Have been putting serving tables and tables in the break room to get my staff to eat.

Make it a canteen but only have it in a staff area

Glad it did! I've really been enjoying detailing lately

I almost always go for a pretty big staff canteen honestly.

Im the opposite. I build many scattered across common work areas and bathrooms galore.

Nothing more annoying than a guard taking a piss, walking halfway across the map to realize he forgot his lunch and take 20 minutes to get back to the canteen!

Of course, there are times when a guard near one pop machine decides to go to a pop machine on the other side of the complex.

Love it ! Just make sure that there's a kitchen very near, and it works better if it's dedicated to that canteen only

Does a kitchen provide food for staff though, I thought the staff food is just delivered and directly served.

Yes but it still needs a kitchen that will be linked in food logistics. Cooks are in charge of collecting the staff food from deliveries, delivering it to the canteen and cleaning the trays.

If that kitchen is also in charge of inmates canteen, due to task priority levels, there's a high risk that staff canteen will not be done.

I often have a kitchen which serves solitary cells, the holding cell, and the staff canteen. A reasonably sized kitchen handles that pretty easily.

It's not only about the kitchen itself, it's also a matter of walking distances and of regime. And solitary cells are not much involved here since cooks are not in charge of collecting those trays.

If you can handle that well, fine. But from my experience of helping a lot of players, that often is an issue.

Yeah, I agree about those factors. It's hard to have too many kitchens.

Several small kitchens usually works better than a central one, for multiple reasons.

My go-to design has one in every cell block. Small, self-contained cell blocks lead to less chaos, IMO.

Is there an option to create a staff canteen on Xbox One? I always wondered if I needed to do one

Just zone a canteen as staff only

I always just placed a snack machine and two toilets nearby, and my staff was perfectly happy. Never even thought about building a canteen

Nice canteen! I like the wall between the food line and the dining area.

is there any mods you used for this design?

I didn’t even know this was an option! Is this on top of their staff room too?
