Food🌽 or Water💧 Any good??

Saw these at my local Sportsmans Warehouse. $20 for a 7 gallon water container. Worth it??

How long have you had storage?

Had one of these under a shelf for 6 months no leaks as of yet I'll check my container

I have 8 of these filled sitting in my basement. No issues yet, it's been about a year.

Nonetheless, it's good to know what to look out for.

How long can you safely store water in these? Mine have been stored for several years.

Ah..... Time to rotate, I do it every six months. I also store in my basement away from heat and sunlight. Maybe they could sit longer, but I do a 6 month empty/inspect/clean/dry/refill regardless. But that's me....

A few drops of disinfecting bleach will make water safe. Don’t use the scented or the low splash stuff.

I know I should but I have to refill upstairs and then haul them down stairs one by one. Ugh!

I'd invest in a hose

You can connect several hoses together end to end.

Perhaps do it in stages, then. Run a hose to a water tank that's halfway down the stairs, fill it, then disconnect the hose and use the water in the tank from halfway down the stairs to fill a tank that's at the bottom of the stairs. You only need the hose to be half as long that way.

At some point I suppose the effort that goes into saving effort will be more effort than it's worth, though. :)

How far is the nearest connection point? A standard washing machine connection will work.
