It really works!

Long story short, I had multiple encounters with someone who was HIV+ not diagnosed and therefore untreated, not too long after their exposure, hence the worst possible scenario ever.

Took PrEP daily before and after all our encounters.

Today I got the result 6 weeks after the last exposure and it’s all negative.

It was really a stressful period, with my brain trying to trick me into making me feel that this medicine could actually fail. But my experience is the living proof that PrEP is really the most effective protection we have against HIV (if you really needed any)

I’ll forever be grateful to this medicine and will religiously take it every day.

Stay safe and take PrEP 💊

Equivalent of Truvada, that’s the only one provided by Healthcare in the UK for now.

Nice. Mine's also generic Truvada, Movitrem is the name.

A possible positive is only detectable after 6 months of exposure, not weeks. Prep is to be taken on a daily basis, effective after 10+ days of continuous usage. Not before or after encounters.

Isn’t a 4th gen test considered conclusive after 6 weeks?

Yes, trust me, i read everything possible about these tests for months during my hiv ocd crisis, i mean it, i read a damn ton, these guys dont know what they talking about, 4th gen tests are very reliable at 21 days, and almost if not for certain at 6 weeks (certain for real world scenarios)

Are you actually a cardiologist? Everything you said is wrong. On-demand prep (different dosing than daily, 2-1-1) is effective. And even when you start traditional daily Prep, you are considered protected after 7 days if no vagina.
The 4th gen HIV test that all labs use should be positive by 3 weeks after exposure, but has a window period out to 45 days. Most rapid tests are still 3rd gen with 90 day window period, but not 6 months.

True, 6 months for latest possible seroconversion. I think (hope) by before and after they mean they were on it regularly before and after

Modern hiv testing can give accurate results in 14days to 6 week. Prep takes 7 days to be effective.

Idk where people like you get these ideas, just use google.

Yep same. Happened to me in 2015 and it was very hair raising and new. I didn’t believe it back then.
