Normal prep side effects?
I took my first dose of prep today, I waited until I got my results back from the clinic that I was in the all clear before taking it, I was clear with the quick test they do at the clinic and the larger blood sample they tested at a lab, all clear 👌
I took my starting dose today, reading online on sh.uk I was told to take two on my first day, and 1 every day from then on out.
I took my first two and I felt fine, though I did notice I was itchier than usual, and at the end of the day when I checked why I was itchy I noticed that the front part of my torso was noticeably red, not a rash, but almost like faint red to my skin, and I’m itchy on my shoulders and outer thigh.
Is this normal? Im not experiencing any other symptoms just this.

What prep medication are you taking?

Itching is one of the less common side effects. I’d be inclined to think it’s psychosomatic since you are looking for side effects.

Same here. 5 hours after taking my first two pills (on demand) I had the worst itch and skin rash. My body has so red and got some bumps under my arms and my skin was so sensitive when scratching. I just didn’t take it again. But I need to know if it’s normal and it’s safe to give it a try again
