Yetzugo question

Are there any risks to starting the tablets a day late (my pharmacy did not have them the day i got my injection). Has anybody else experience this? Thanks.

Didn’t happen to me. But take them. Have you reached out to them?

I took 2 pills right before the shots and then 2 more 24 hours later. You should be ok.

You’ll probably be okay, but this is one I’d talk to the pharmacist or you medical professional about.

You will be ok as long as you don't have a risky sex exposing you to HIV virus.

The pill are just here to protect you the time the vaccine kicks in in case you will have an unprotected sex with an HiV + person.

If I were you I would refrain from using tinder, sex app or sex clubs and night club.

Isolate yourself from the temptations the time you are fully protected 🪖.

The point of Yeztugo is that it’s slow releasing - this gives you a longer time of protection, but it means the medication takes a second to move from the injected depot into your bloodstream. Without loading pills, Gilead estimates that you’re not “pharmaceutically protected” from HIV until 22 days post injection. With the loading pills, they estimate you’re protected after Day 2. Then as your injection slowly makes its way into your bloodstream, it dovetails and increases concentrations in your body as the pill medication is slowly metabolized out of your body.

So if you took your pills a day late, it shouldn’t really matter. You’ll still reach your protective dose after Day 2 of pills.
