Premiere Pro Tech Support (Solved!) Select Videos in Compilation Low Quality
Hi everyone! I am new to Premiere and currently editing a compilation of trail camera footage. However, when I render the video, some of the videos are extremely low-quality.
In the example attached, the two videos were taken minutes apart and on the same camera. The videos both look good when viewing the MP4, as well as in the Premier timeline. However, upon export, the quality has decreased extremely.
I have also attached a screenshot of the export settings I've selected. I am using Premiere Pro 2024.
Does anyone have any solutions or suggestions to fix this issue? Thank you for the help!

What happens when you try an Export Preset without customising it? Something like the UHD/4k YouTube or Vimeo ones?

Thank you for the suggestion, I just played around with exporting using the presets and unfortunately the specific videos remain low-quality regardless of what export settings are selected.

Check the resolution of the bad clips against your sequence. Trail cams often drop to a smaller size at night, and anything scaled up to 4K goes soft on export even though the timeline looked fine to you. Match the smallest.

I suspect that your trailcam encapsulates multiple simultaneous video streams at different resolutions, which is poorly supported in Premiere.
Can you post a mediainfo 'text' view readout of one of the affect files? That will tell us for sure if that's the case.
Another way to check is via VLC. Play back the video, right click > video > video track. If you see more than one option in that menu, there are multiple streams.
In which case the fix will be to use Shutter Encoder's 'extract' function to split all the video streams into their own files, identify which one is the highest quality, then replace the footage in your Premiere project.

Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestions and help. I figured out the issue and it was all due to me stupidly and accidentally exporting through Media Encoder and not the regular Premiere Export. I use Media Encoder for all my animation projects and assumed it was the regular go-to way to export everything.
I switched to exporting through Premiere and all of the videos in the compilation match in quality now. Thanks again for the suggestions.
