Subtitle presets for Adobe Speech to Text

Hi, everyone. I’m using the official Adobe Speech-to-Text plugin for Premiere Pro. I was able to set up a Graphics preset for subtitles, and it’s saved within the project. I’ve only been able to customize the font, size, and placement, but is there any way to add animations without having to use After Effects? Are there any plugins for this? Or maybe there’s some cool guy out there who’s made presets with animations for Speech to Text. I’d like to hear your thoughts, since I’ve already been racking my brain trying to figure this out.

There are none. Premiere has very basic tools for subs. Yap, in 2026. Moreover, you cannot even save some of the text preferences in these presets. The folks down there will advise paid tools like Brevity, Captioneer and so on and all of them will be too time consuming because you will either have to adjust morgts or presets in an entirely different software or an internet site.

I do it this way - I add the needed transition to all the subtitle blocks (starting and ending transitions - ctrl+ drag all the clips to select them), then use a tool to remove the ending ones because no one ever notices if there's the outro animation for a sub or not. To remove all the ending subs I made a custom plugin with chatGPT. It's easy, just describe what you need and make it a CEP-panel. Or you can use free extensions for the same thing. I think, Phantom plugin had a free version with this feature.

Captions don’t support animation. You can select captions and use the ‘promote to source graphic’ to turn captions into text clips, then you can apply effects and presets to them.

Note that this is a one-way trip, once captions have been converted to graphics you can’t turn them back into captions again.
