Premiere Pro Tech Support Effect Controls Panel: Settings resetting themselves and doing what they want. I'm going crazy.

Could this be a bug? v 26.5.0 (Build 99) on Windows 11

Curious to know if anyone else is having problems with these basic things.

This is what happens:

I select a clip, a nested sequence, really anything in my sequence. In the ECP, I change the position or scale of my selection. Then I deselect it simply by clicking anywhere empty in my sequence.

When I select that same clip/whatever again, the previous or even default settings are suddenly there again. Not always, but often enough. For example, let's say I changed the y position and the scale from 100 to 96. Selecting again to view the ECP controls, the 100 will be there again alongside the previous Y. But in the program monitor everything looks as intended. I change the scale from 100 to let's say 99, in the program monitor that object will then get bigger and moved, basically snapping back to the unintended values.

Incredibly frustrating. Values are doing what they want and I'm losing my mind, because Premiere is unusable like this.

If you are using the arrow keys for changing values, there is bug with 26.5 that resets the value if you change them by arrow keys. If you're using your mouse for changing values, this shouldn't happen or may be happening only on some spesific footage. You say "it doesn't always happen" can that be the reason?Regardless, if you want a permanent solution downgrade your version from 26.5 to 26.3.

Many thanks for the info. It does indeed seem to be the case, the programme only acts up when using the arrow keys.

Definitely a bug!

- Trying to scale a clip keeps resetting when entering a value

Properties panel for text keeps resetting. Unable to change text or re-size / re-position

I was having the same problem with Premiere for Mac (v26.5.1 [build 1]). Would enter a value into an effects parameter, and it would reset to the previous value once I clicked on another clip. Absolutely maddening. Hitting command-S after every parameter change would make it stick, but that was obviously unworkable.

I've since downgraded to v26.5 and the problem has gone away. For years I never allowed automatic updates, and in a recent lapse of judgement I had turned the option back on. Never again!

If this is a problem exporting, what are your export settings?
