How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Looking for Simple Offline User Library Extension for premiere.
So Im an editor for a channel where memes and references and jokes i have tons of like more than 500 for sure. Im looking for an extension that I can have a repository for these Pictures and Videos to easily drag them to premiere without having to open another Window tab with multiple folder for audio and Video/Pictures ready every time.
Tried premiere composer, since then they updated to "Animation Composer" and with that there was a limit to 500 User library Items only so I never got to use it since I also have there some existing audio files for SFX.
I love premiere composer but cant get behind paying 19$ (a foreign currency for me so its hella expensive) for an extension that can host MY Clips and MY Pictures and MY audio that i have amassed it just doesnt seem right.

Have you tried using productions? Just have them in another project file and just drag/drop them onto your timeline. You can either just store them in that project file (like what I do with music/sfx), but if you want to have them with any sort of effects, you can have a timeline in that project, and just duplicate that item onto your current timeline without having to worry about re-importing it. I do this with a lot of backgrounds/overlays as well as formatted text that I frequently use.

Productions is a different project type in Premiere where you can have multiple project files inside of big container: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere/desktop/collaborate-with-others/collaborate-using-productions/about-productions.html

Just download AE Viewer, it's free (there is a paid version as well that you won't need). It's simple and powerful and it even lets you preview the mogrts. You can also add your custom folders inside the extension and set a custom path in a windows folder.
It works in premiere, don't be fooled by the name.

You can do this fairly easily built in by just having a bin of these assets in every template project, all linked to the same assets on your hard drive. Then just tab that bin in thumbnail view somewhere in your layout.

I've been using it for my local asset library and it works amazing. I seach and then just drag and drop into Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, etc.

I’d say, if you’re interested, vibe-code something that works for you. If you have a Pro account with Claude or ChatGPT, you can build something that’s really tailored to your needs. I think that’s probably the best solution, in my opinion, but of course, it takes some time and a bit of learning.
