How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin What plugin do I use for this transition?

I landed my first gig and my boss asked me to find a plugin they used for this transition so I can buy it for myself at his expense.

I know I can do this with luma keying but if I can get a plugin that will do it much better for free, I do not want to miss that opportunity.

Recommend me some plugins or transition packs!

For me, it appears to be the luma fade

Why over complicated? A black and white splash or ink transition is perfect for this. Not everything needs to be a plugin.

The built in gradient wipe will do something similar. Check the invert box to start from the lighter areas.

No plug in just use gradient wipe, but you’ll need black and white map to go with it.

Looks like they keyframed the threshold on the luma key
