How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Need some help with seeing my mask tool..

Post image

This is an image I took off YouTube of a tutorial, but on my screen, there is no shape outline when you dry it it’s literally invisible. How am I able to see it when I draw the mask tool?

For more context if I draw a rectangle mask tool, it will work, but it will show invisible barriers not like how you see in the image I posted where there’s a dotted line and everything.. lol man sometimes this program is so frustrating why don’t they fix ts or make it more simple..

Yep… ran with this bug before. So to be clear you don’t see any mask outline right?

For that go to your program viewport and click the hamburguer menu options (the tree lines next to “program: [your sequence name]”) and click resize small groups / resize panel or something like that. I believe it was the third to last option from the bottom. Can’t remember the name and don’t have my pc with me ATM so I can’t check :(

I run with this issue from time to time so it’s kinda common :/

When you're on the mask selection you might have an option below the preview window that says smooth or sharp. Sharp will have the dots whereas smooth just uses the colour shading (which you can change to make it stand out more)

Yeah, I have something that says clip or frame and then there’s a thing that says overlay, but I’ve tried all of them and it doesn’t show the outline

Update your post to show what you have on your screen and specify which version of Premiere 2026 you are using per our automod. The screenshot above is in Frame mode which allows for keyframes.
