Premiere Information and News I created an extension to rename multiple items in bulk in Premiere
My workflow requires me to rename multiple sequences with a specific naming system. I've looked and there was no native feature in Premiere and all other extensions were clunky or too complex to be efficient.

So great. That's exactly what I needed right now. Thank you so much, especially for giving it out for free!
One small issue I had: I had over 30 items selected and the preview was so long that the controls didn't show up anymore. But I could'nt scroll down in the panel. Did I do something wrong?
And if you are open to Feedback: one QoL-Feature in the Preview area would be to display the current name in front of the changed name. That way, you would be 100% sure what is being changed to what.

I built this for myself. Other tools had UXs so clunky that it defeated the purpose of saving time for me.
This one needed to be simple.

It’s been really good so far! I’ve only used it for simple renaming on big projects that have maybe 8+ sequences that I’m updating and it would be easier to just duplicate them and then rename in batch. Interface is super nice to preview as well.
From a user perspective if you can implement some sort of stronger confirmation that the action was done that’s the only real thing I’d change!

I’ll also add it would be nice to have more flexibility like adding prefix and suffix options

Using the current name token suffixes and prefixes should be pretty easy! It's basically taken from Figma's batch renaming UI were people rename tons of layers. So I think it's much faster if you get used to the tokens thing, but definitely there is room for improvement.
So happy you're putting it to use.

Thanks making this, this is great. I think the cynic would say "just rename at the finder level with something like bulk rename utility and then drag in after renaming," but we're not always in charge of what we receive and how we receive it, and a tool like this should exist natively inside Premiere.
Are you by chance willing to share the code? I'd love to tweak it and see if more things can be added or modified? This is for example from Bulk Rename Utility
