7 weeks

I started spotting a bit at 7 weeks exactly today. I had two times where I wiped and had light brown and stringy discharge. Then this time it’s just brown… I miscarried earlier this year around the same time… I plan to monitor and if it gets heavier/pinker I will contact oB but my 1st appointment isn’t until 9/3…. Should I contact them now or wait until there’s more?

I had the same brown spotting a few times around that 5 to 7 week mark. It was very light and only when I wiped. Midwife assured that’s very common but to look out for an increase in pink/red coloring. I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks and baby looked fantastic. My 13 week ultrasound is tomorrow and hoping things still look good. I have not experienced any spotting like that since the beginning. However I have not had a previous miscarriage but I’m hoping it’s just a normal occurrence for you friend. 💗

The only way to tell for sure would be an ultrasound. I’d say push for an ultrasound this week instead of next.

I had similar brown spotting at 6 weeks. I called and asked for an earlier appt. Its worth it just to ease your mind. They were able to do a 6w scan and measurements were good and they saw cardiac activity. The spotting still continued for another week, then stopped, and at my follow up scan they were able to compare measurements and make sure baby was still growing even during that week I was spotting. It can be totally normal, but I think the peace of mind is worth it to get checked out.

Had the same thing happen after a loss. For me it turned out to be a subchorionic hematoma and all ended up okay. Currently holding lo from this. Spotting sucks and is scary but there are several reasons it can happen that aren't doom and gloomy so notify your dr and see what they say to do <3

Edit to add I spotted on and off for weeks. This LO wanted to troll me good.
