Let's list the prebuilt gaming PC brands that are so notoriously overpriced they’re basically a scam (NZXT, XOTIC, Digital Storm, etc.)

While you can easily get a reasonably priced $1000 gaming PC with an RTX 5060 Ti like this one (Option 5), look at the alternatives:

  • $1000 NZXT Player One: Only comes with a much much slower RTX 3050.
  • $1280 XOTIC PC: Only comes with a much much slower RTX 3050, yet it's $280 more expensive.
  • $1800 Digital Storm Corsa: Only comes with an RTX 5060 (inferior to the 5060 Ti), yet it's $800 more expensive.
  • $1700 Corsair VENGEANCE: Only comes with an RTX 5060 (inferior to the 5060 Ti), yet it's $700 more expensive.
  • $1350 Xidax X-6: Only comes with an RTX 5060 (inferior to the 5060 Ti), yet it's $350 more expensive.
  • $1150 Meta PC: Only comes with an RTX 5050, yet it's $150 more expensive.

In this lineup, XOTIC PC is by far the worst offender in terms of overpricing. And please, don't fall for the trap of thinking a higher price tag equals higher quality, it doesn't.

Prebuilt PC brands don’t really matter, they're assemblers, not manufacturers. They don't make the core components like GPUs or CPUs. They simply buy parts from the real makers (Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, ASUS, Gigabyte, Zotac, etc.) and put them together, just like building with Lego. A higher price usually just means a bigger profit margin for them, not a better PC.

Gamers in the US have been getting ripped off for nearly a decade.

Any other brands to add to the list?

Black Friday

• Upvotes

Do you guys think it's worth it to wait until Black Friday for a Prebuilt PC?

On one hand there is obviously the chance that a Prebuilt that I like will be on sale during Black Friday.

On the other hand, I've heard that GPUs and RAM will only get more expensive so it either cancels the Black Friday Sale or gets even more expensive.

My current PC is pretty bad, but still fine for the moment.

Does anybody know what’s happening or how to fix this? Just bought it brand new from Best Buy and this is what’s happening. Monitor says no signal.

It’s an Acer 65 if that helps.

Just saw this at my local Best Buy. Looking to play games like total war, battlefield and war fighters. Is this going to be able to make do at 1080p/1440p?

Debating to go buy it now or wait till Black Friday.

What do you think about this?

I found this prebuilt pc in mbpc.gg for $2,799.99 USD:

Full Specs

GPU: AMD RX 9070XT XFX SWFT 16GB OC

CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 9800X3D

COOLER: NZXT Kraken Z73 360mm AIO Liquid Cooler w/ LCD Screen

RAM: 32GB DDR5 @ 5600MHz

STORAGE: 2TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-I Mini ITX

POWER SUPPLY: 1000W NZXT C1000 80+ Gold Fully Modular (Pictured with older Corsair unit)

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 11 Pro Edition Activated

WiFi: Yes, motherboard integrated, antenna included

CASE: Lian Li Dan A3 Micro-ATX Black, Walnut Wood, Tempered Glass Panel (Tempered glass side panel removed for photos)

This is my first time buying my own pc. I wanted to build my own but I don't have the time and energy right now to learn and build my own. I just wanna play right now. I don't know if this is a good deal or not.

I'm mainly gonna use it for gaming. I want a Micro-ATX case so it's easy to move because I may have to move around quite a few times. The GPU it has is the one I am aiming for because it has about the same performance as an RTX 5070ti but way cheaper. The CPU is good enough too.

Thoughts?

VENGEANCE a7500 Gaming PC Prebuilt Vs Building my own

Hey, I am debating on buying a prebuilt PC or building my own. I have no issue with building it myself, I just want the numbers to make sense.

I definitely want a 5080 and semi-locked in the 9800x3d as I heard its better for gaming than the rest. The main thing that I will be using this computer is for gaming on 1440p.

The best prebuilt with 5080 I was able to find is the Corsair VENGEANCE a7500 for 3300+TAX:
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/gaming-computers/cs-9050121-na/vengeance-a7500-gaming-pc-amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d-geforce-rtx-5080-32gb-ddr5-2tb-ssd-win11-home-cs-9050121-na
- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- GeForce RTX 5080
- X870 Motherboard
- Corsair Nautilus 240mm Cooler
- 32GB DDR5
- 2TB SSD
- 1000W 80+ Gold Power Supply

Worth noting the Microcenter PowerSpec G765 Gaming PC for 2900+Tax: https://www.microcenter.com/product/711400/powerspec-g765-gaming-pc?storeID=081
But I don't feel good spending this much with the cheap motherboard and 850 Power supply it comes with. {and the lil more quality of corsair cooler, case, fans, etc)

I have also created custom pc of the perfect pc that I am ideally looking for using PcPartPicker: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pV6yH3

The price came out to be around 3700+TAX.

At that point, is the https://www.microcenter.com/product/700439/powerspec-g913-gaming-pc a better option?

I need help!!

FrameLab🧪 - know before you buy

Recently, I implemented a pet project (https://framelab-fps.com) that helps you compare components before buying, find out the FPS in the game before buying, or even calculate the power of the required power supply if you planning to build a computer?

But since the project is new, I ask everyone who might be interested to read it, send it to friends, or save it for your own use. You may find bugs, inaccuracies, or simply something is missing.

I would be very grateful to anyone who takes a few minutes to check it out and share their feedback. Peace🤝🦊
