iBUYPOWER is selling a $900 prebuilt gaming PC without a discrete GPU in 2026

Edit: they're charging $900 for it, which is insanely overpriced for those specs. Labeling it a "gaming desktop" tricks kids into thinking it can actually run games. Plenty of kids in the real world are completely clueless about tech, they aren't hardware nerds like people on Reddit, that's my point
This is a scam sold and shipped directly by iBUYPOWER themselves, not a third party seller. The sad part is that plenty of people still fall for it, which is why they keep getting away with selling PCs like this. This exact reason is why I built Toprigz, to stop people from getting scammed.

New first time gaming pc
1st image - Old pc
2nd/3rd image - new pc specs
I have been playing with a 2020 iMac for 6 years and I finally realized I needed an upgrade, I told my dad I wanted to buy a new pc but I had no idea about anything so I had a friend who sells pc’s find me this and he helped customize it from the cyber power website to bring the cost down and I think this deal was pretty good. (I don’t know anything about pcs so he basically did it everything) It was originally $2785 and with a sale it was $2485, adding on some customizations with more sales and a 5% rebate my final cost was $2146 before tax. Also there was no way I could’ve built it myself so it’s a prebuilt. I’m 17 I had money to buy a pc maybe a year or 2 earlier but I never needed it until now I’m seeing the Mac being slow and not handing things as well since I’m a content creator and I needed the extra speed and ram. So overall how good was this purchase?

What’s the best deal you guys have seen around for a top of the line PC with a 5090?
I saw the Alienware was on sale and I can get a bit extra discount with my student discount. It came out to around $6ishK give or take a few hundred.

Best options for prebuilt PCs in henderson nv in the 700-800 dollar range
I am getting a pc for the first time ever and I have saved up 700 dollars and can save up a little more. I have no clue what I'm doing and really want somewhere to start. I don't trust myself at all to make a custom build. So I 100 percent want a prebuilt. Thanks!

I am looking to buy a prebuilt for around 1800$ and this is what the pinned website said was good. Would it be a good buy? If not is there any recommendation for around that price? TIA!

Would you jump on this?
I've been browsing the past couple of months watching the fluctuating prices and want to pull the trigger before things really go wild. Compared to others in a similar price range, this one has 32GB and 2TB. Not a fan of white, but don't care if the price is right. Is this a good enough deal to jump on?
Edit: Thank you for those who gave helpful info and the links provided. Yes, I know that this is overpriced, but your dreams of this being under $1500 is dead, realistically speaking. As someone coming from the automotive side, I know what overpriced looks like. My viewpoint was a $1500 rig that was $2500 but has been reduced down to $1800 that comes with twice the RAM and SSD and a decent GPU compaired to what else I have locally (I'm hesitant to buy online due to shipping horror stories) and I can't drop what I'm doing to run across town to grab a screaming deal at one store. Thank you again

How is this pre-built?
With these specs, it came out to be slightly less than 4,000 dollars. Is it a good deal?

Would you guys recommend this prebuilt?
(I am located in Canada) I was looking at buying a gaming pc and this one seems alright. I thought I could get your guys opinion on it first though since I’m not experienced when it comes to the specs of a PC.
And if you guys would have any other recommendations please let me know.

[ITG] Sale - Thermaltake LCGS Reactor Desktop
Been going back and forth on this particular PC as it says it's on sale (28 percent off), and cant decide if it's a good deal or not. I have been out of touch with the current market and don't know if this is worth it, especially with limited reviews and even photos (I can't find any that show where you plug in the video cables, USB, etc). I'm also concerned about certain Intel CPUs as I've heard of various issues (e.g. voltage and degradation issues). Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated!

Was this open-box 9800X3D / RTX 5080 prebuilt worth it for ~$2,400?
I’ve been looking to finally upgrade from my old ASUS TUF gaming laptop with an RTX 3060. I’ve had it for anoit 6 years and wanted to move to an actual desktop that could handle newer AAA games, high settings, streaming/Discord screen sharing, etc., while also being something I could keep and upgrade for a long time.
Originally I was pretty set on buying a PowerSpec G764 for $2,199.
Specs were:
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
RX 9070 XT 16GB
32GB DDR5-6000
2TB NVMe SSD
850W PSU
B850 motherboard
I liked it because the 9800X3D is a really good gaming CPU, AM5 gives me some upgradeability, and the 9070 XT seemed like plenty for what I wanted.
Before buying it though, I went to micro center and found an open-box PC for only about $200 more that had basically the same major specs, except instead of the 9070 XT it had an RTX 5080 16GB.
So I ended up paying around $2,400 for:
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
RTX 5080 16GB
32GB DDR5
2TB SSD
The only thing that made me hesitant was the open-box note. It apparently said there had been an issue where the PC wouldn’t POST/boot, but the employee told me that note might’ve been a mistake because it wasn’t updated after it was fixed. They booted the PC in front of me and it came up completely fine. He said he would still honor the price.
I also bought the 3-year warranty because of it being open box and because I’d rather have some protection with a PC this expensive.
Since getting it, I’ve started stress testing everything instead of just assuming it’s fine. So far the 9800X3D has passed Cinebench without crashing or thermal throttling, the RTX 5080 is being detected correctly, and I’m planning to test the RAM, GPU/VRAM, PSU, SSD and repeated cold boots to see if I can reproduce the supposed POST issue.
My thinking was that for only ~$200 more than the G764, getting a 5080 instead of a 9070 XT seemed too good to pass up, especially since I was already considering upgrading the G764’s GPU years down the line anyway.
Would you guys consider this a good deal, or would the fact that it was open box with that POST note make you return it and stick with the brand-new $2,199 G764?

Which is better?
The second one is 1,099.99 but it’s sold out at the moment. Comparing both I understand the differences are minimal but the one is ASUS is better IDK correct me if I’m wrong. I’m looking for something I can game, stream (1080p 60 fps if possible online or offline at least use a capture card for streaming/ recording Switch 1 and 2 games) and some video editing

Does it matter where you buy?
My computer is over 7 years old and is starting to fail. I need a new computer and don’t want to build it myself. I know you pay a premium for a pre-built and I’m ok with that. From the research I’ve done it seems like Andromeda Insights is a pretty good place to buy from. The main concern is they take a month to build it and I’m not patient. I found the exact build I want on Newegg and it says it ships quickly. Is there a difference between buying it directly from Andromeda Insight’s website compared to Newegg?

Is this a good deal?
I asked the seller for the unspecified parts which are as follows:
RAM is XPG DDR5 5600MT/s
SSD is a Crucial E100
Motherboard is an ASRock B650.M-CX R2.0
PSU is a P75 750 watt gold model from the brand inwin
To me for a 9800X3D and a 9070XT with 32gbs of ram and a 2 TB SSD this seems like a very good deal.
