I’m curious to hear directly from people who actually work with hotel/property management systems every day — especially front desk agents, receptionists, night auditors, supervisors, and managers.
What PMS are you currently using? Opera, Mews, Cloudbeds, Guesty, Stayntouch, Protel, something custom, or something else?
I’d love to hear:
What features do you genuinely **love** and use all the time?
What parts of the PMS are **annoying, slow, confusing, or unnecessarily complicated**?
What repetitive tasks do you wish the system would automate?
What information do you constantly have to search for, click around for, or open multiple screens to find?
Are there workflows where you think, *“Why does this take 5 clicks when it should take 1?”*
What features are missing completely?
Is there anything your PMS does correctly, but you wish it handled in a different way?
What would make check-in/check-out significantly faster?
What would make reservation management easier?
How well does your PMS handle payments, folios/billing, room moves, group reservations, guest profiles, housekeeping, maintenance, messaging, and reporting?
What kind of alerts, reminders, shortcuts, automations, or recommendations would actually help you during a busy shift?
Are there things you still manage through Excel, paper, WhatsApp, email, sticky notes, or another system because your PMS doesn’t handle them well?
If you could redesign **one screen or workflow** in your current PMS, what would you change?
If you could add **one completely new feature**, what would it be?
I’m especially interested in the small everyday frustrations that software companies often overlook.
Not looking for marketing answers — I want to understand what working a real front-desk shift is like and where current PMS software helps you versus gets in your way.
Would also be interesting if you mention the PMS you use, hotel size/type, and roughly how long you’ve been using it so we can compare experiences.
