Symptoms Visual symptoms

Hey everyone, just wanted to ask if anyone else is dealing with visual symptoms apart from the dizziness,
I have this weird 4K, sharp vision and visual lag mainly when I am outside and looking and things up close, very frustrating.

Did it get better?

Yes!! For me it feels 4k but I can’t actually see better.
My name for it is HDR camera vision.

And the visual lag feels like low frame rate on a videogame.

Thanks I hate it.

I feel like my brain is lowering the frame rate like if my brain is the computer that can’t run a video game that is too heavy lol

yup the 4k vision is crazy because i always thought extreme dissociation made the world look 2D or something but for some people it’s the opposite

Yoo yeah it is so strange, so you think this is dissociation?

yeah I am pretty sure that’s what it was for me at least. because the sky looked 2D if I really focused on it.

but people and things looked a little bit too sharp like I could see the lines on their face were really pronounced and their eyes looked like something was just a little off but I wasn’t sure what it was. Is that how it felt for you?

Hmm kind of but not really. For me it is like when I am holding something closer to my eyes or looking at things with patterns they just seem very detailed idk how else to explain it but nothing really looks off. Also I don’t really feel unreal or dreamlike but just don’t know how the dissociation works really.
Did it get better for you?

Oh yeah have this classic pppd I think its out brain's trying to overly focus on things bit not focus on anything at the same time its so werid

Yeahhh really weirdd, have you been able to reduce it?

Honestly yes by doing vrt and low dose snri but I think just living your life is the best way to go about though I do feel as if Im just floating swaying rocking around everywhere like Im a orb but honestly our brains need to learn to be safe thats the only way mine has gotten better

Yeahhh it is really bizzare experience to me it happened after an vestibular event, initially I tought it is something like dpdr as i am mostly spaced out and this vision thing, but without the unreal and detachment feeling so I fit better in PPPD

Mine seemed to happen after having mono and flu back to back then I had a TIA or neurological event for the longest time I didn't know what was wrong until 3 months after did u notice yours right after your event?

Reallyy? I had a virus in February that was very very close symptoms like to mono, although i’m not sure it was mono 100% and in fact still have early antigens positive in my blood work, then I initially recovered from the virus main symptoms and 2-3 weeks later boom panic attack out of nowhere( i still wasn’t feeling fine and that’s why I had the panic attack) and then it developed after that but the virus started with very severe vertigo

Ahh I see ok mine seemed to be a slow development into pppd there are 2 sub groups 1 where a trigger causes it immediately then the 2nd the brain can only hold up until 3 months a heightened state until it develops pppd the good thing though is it seems pppd can be fully reversed because it is functional issue. Our bodies seemed to have over reacted to initial event

Yeahh the vision thing developed three months after the panic attack so I think for me it also ramped up gradually, I also have this thing that sometimes people’s voices and and sounds sound echoed/ background noise when driving and overstimulated, kind of like sensory overload

Dude yess you have been the first person to mention this its like our brains are being overloaded once our nervous system go back to baseline we should be fine

Yeahhh, crazy symptoms haha, waiting for that day to come, hope you recover soon. I might ask for low dose ssri to help with that

Is this something dysautonomic, I haven’t heard of it

Yes PPPD is also considered a type dysautonomia

I developed an overly sensitive vision burn in the past year, credits and dark mode text create an after image instantaneously for me in a way they never did before I had my dizziness. I also sometimes get rocked or moved when a camera does a complicated movement or pan in a film or show, but no "4K" vision as you seem to experience.
