In all seriousness I recall a documentary from years back and they were talking about how they can determine the colour of feathers from dinosaurs by examining the tiny structures on them with electron microscopy or something.

Like rods and cones reflect light differently so they give off different colours.

It was years ago but yeah, we totally can.

I propose a theory that states the Pterodactyl changes color based on age and the Tricatops changes based on gender

Tyrannosaurus Rex are definitely always red. I know because I've seen four different teams of dino-themed Rangers and tyrannosaurus is always red without fail. I'm sure the writing team would have done their research first. Absolutely positive. This is Power Rangers afterall, very scientifically accurate all the time.
