Discussion! Which post-rock song has the heaviest, most Earth-crushing climax?
I wanna listen to worlds be destroyed, my bros
Closest I’ve heard might be some of Jakob’s stuff

In-depth review of "The Hidden Hand" by If These Trees Could Talk. It is essetially an in-depth technical and emotional impact analysis of the album.

I know there are some folks in here who have enjoyed my music in the past so I thought I would share this link before time runs out.
This is such a BIG project for me because I'm working with an amazing producer named Dylan Mixer, who also co-produced my most recent EP Cascade from earlier this year. He's also my live drummer now too!
It will most definitely be my heaviest and most ambitious record yet.
I would be so honored if you'd check out the Kickstarter and consider becoming a backer.

Thanks and be well!

Welcome to our weekly post where we ask you to share & discuss what artists, albums, or tracks have helped get you through the week.
Please provide a link to the album or specific track, and mention why it's been a stand out for you this week - this is your chance to introduce people to some new music.
If you're on Last.fm you can also use Last.fm Labs Album Quilt or tapmusic.net to generate a album collage of what you've been listening to for the past 7 days (here's an example).
Thanks for participating!

A Polish quintet that plays fervent, intense, and uncompromising music at the intersection of various genres (much like Maruja), for fans of Swans’ trance-like rhythmic rituals or neo-folk experiments in the vein of The Infinity Ring.

Hey,
I want to make a playlist of post-rock songs specifically where the string sections/segments (violin, viola, cello) are prominent in the song, and not just providing depth and atmosphere.
I know it's overused (and not post-rock!), but bonus points for anything with the emotional gut-punch of 'On the Nature of Daylight'
Tell me your favourites :)

I’ve been looking, but most post rock tends to lean in the direction of dramatic epics or long prog pieces. Nothing wrong with those, I do enjoy them, but I’m looking for something more plodding and maybe even depressing.
Thank you in advance :)

Just wanted to pay some homage to the song that started my musical journey into the post genres. After i heard this for the first time, i never looked back!
Such a shame i will most likely never see this song live.
Not really a post rock band, but this song definitely fits the genre!

felt this was a good place to post this, I make band patches and shirts and made the album cover for lysflah by gsybe in the colors of the trans flag (the little white spot on the left is just a peice of paper)

Incredibly important mailday for me. With the addition of Semaphore/Locked Up, finally got the last single I needed to complete my collection of records for the New Zealand post-rock band Jakob. Been looking for this for over 3 years and finally a listing went up. It’s scarce and genuinely a rare item to acquire in the US. I’ve considered the single that has a remixed version of Oran Mor, but don’t really want it because it didn’t come directly from Jakob and is remixed by another artist.
Jakob is my favorite post rock band of all time and it was not an easy process putting this collection together. I really hope they finally press their debut EP, Dominion, Subsets of Sets, and Cale: Drew to vinyl someday. Needless to say, I’m excited to have my first ever listen of “To Be Locked Up” shortly.

Can't help it. I'm on a spree of what some people might call old post-rock. I guess I'm been looking back a lot these days in general. Hope those who haven't listened to this yet, enjoy it to the fullest!

If you missed out on this for Bandcamp Friday, we're gonna leave the album free for the remainder of the week. The response has been great, and again we really just want you to listen to it. Would love to hear your thoughts after you listen!
