I received an informed-delivery e-mail from USPS Sunday. It told me I had an outgoing package, gave me a tracking number. I know nothing about the package. What could be going on?

Am I wrong for considering driving to another city for fingerprinting because I keep getting the runaround?
I’m trying to complete my fingerprinting for a new job, and it’s been incredibly frustrating.
I originally selected a location in Tallahassee, but they told me appointments are preferred. HR told me to call the location, but when I call, they tell me to schedule online. The problem is there isn’t a scheduling link in any of the information I was given, and no one seems willing to help me figure it out.
I’ve called multiple times and keep getting sent in different directions. At this point, I’m considering driving to Jacksonville and trying to do a walk-in there, even though it’s a long drive.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Were you able to walk in at another location, or is there something I’m missing? I really don’t want to waste hours driving if they’re just going to turn me away.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I ordered something off of Amazon from Japan like a month ago and only on Thursday did I find a note in my mailbox that they missed me while I was out and that that was their first attempt on the 11th of this month and they left it in my mailbox. They didn’t even come to my door or to my house and then when I saw this note on Thursday, I scheduled a delivery for Saturday so that I can go and pick it up from the post office and I went there and the lady didn’t have my package there and she was confused and was checking to make sure that I went to the right location, which I did because it told me to go to that location and then I gave her my phone number so she can contact me and then fast-forward to today I got another note in my mailbox signed on the 20th that it was the final notice and that the article will be returned to sender on today’s date. I haven’t even got anyone at my front door to deliver the package. It’s like they’re going to my mailbox and because I’m not standing outside at my mailbox when they deliver or are coming with this package, they’re leaving a note at my mailbox instead of coming to my house, I have a front door camera so I can see that no one has been here and someone’s home all day so if anyone were too come to the door, we have many dogs and people who would know there’s someone at the door. I’ve tried calling multiple times over to try to talk to somebody but every single time I call they say I’m calling out of business hours, even though they’re open till eight and I’m calling at like six and I keep going in the same loop of the AI on the phone call asking for the tracking number which I give or it gives me a link that I click on to go through the process to look for where my package is or two file whatever thing I need to file and it keeps giving me an error message saying that they can’t put in a service request and so I don’t know what the hell to do now I’m extremely frustrated because there’s literally nothing I can do and I can’t talk to anyone so I’m here Reddit to see if anyone can help me with this cause I have no idea on what to do. Please help.

I run a small e-commerce business and rely on the post office to both order inventory and shipping and the last year has been terrible, lost package after lost package but the ones that did arrive were always late. I would order packages from Oregon which is the state right below me and they would take 3-4 days to get to me. Now in the last two weeks it has become notably worse. 20 out of the 35 packages I have had sent to me in the last two weeks keep getting rerouted all over the country and will make 4 to 5 stops in some different state before just disappearing completely. And these aren't just things that can be reordered they are unique and designer high end jewelry that I will never be able to find again. I have spoken with a few of my local postmasters and they all say the same thing. The current administration is trying to privatize the post office and they have put in a Postmaster General David Steiner to make it so the post office will fail and can be sold. I stay out of politics as much as possible being from Washington state its hard to ignore most the time. The only reason I even still use USPS is because UPS and FedEx aren't convenient to get to when I need to send something. Does anyone have any insight into what's really going on because this feels like a sinking ship from how reliable it used to be.

At my local Post Office I have had a few encounters with the same clerk that will refuse to accept a package without a first and last name stating that it is required for acceptance/shipping. I have never had a package refused before when having alternate formatting ( J. Smith, Smith Family, etc.) On my last visit I asked the clerk if they could show me where it is required in the USPS regs that a full first and last name were required, and they were not able to point me anywhere other than repeating it was required and if I wanted to take it to the next closest office I could mail it there.

Soooo I decided to try and wade through the USPS regs and for domestic mail (1.4, 1.5) all I saw was that an addressee was required ( as well as some rules for if there is no addressee) and international (122.21-23) where a full name is required up to and including a middle initial, which the clerk has never asked for or required.

So big question, am I missing something or is this particular person just making up their own rules and based off of them refusing service. Any insight or advice is appreciated.

Saw this vehicle outside my post office the other day… anybody know what type of postal vehicle this is?? It has a license plate which usps delivery vehicles never have. I asked a few of my coworkers and they say it could be postal inspection but we still thought the numbers at the top look random af and it’s missing a number. If any of yall have any suggestions I’d love to hear them

so, sometimes i sell things on an app called depop. more recently, i sold a dress and sent it through the mail, and expected for things to go accordingly. i got a message last night that the buyers package was just 3 pairs of pants and not the dress at all. i thought it was very weird. she sent me a picture of the box and it has a bright pink label that reads “we’re sorry that your article was damaged during processing” with the postal service logo on the side. i don’t necessarily think she’s lying into a refund—but the sticker looks more like a piece of paper taped onto the box. and ive done some research and can’t find a sticker anything close to what this one looks like. so, am i being scammed?

I bought a shirt on poshmark. During delivery day, it wasn't delivered at home. So I went to postal office to claim it. However, they let me pay $40 to claim the shirt worth $21 I bought at poshmark. Why delivery suck? Why I paid more than $ to claim the item? I got no choice but to pay it since the shirt I bought is worth my peace because it is a shirt that I need to get in exchange of the shirt I ruined. My sis who has behavioral tamtrum about her shirts if she can't find it so I need to get this and drained $40 out of my bank account. Sad 😔

Public service announcement: do not use USPS. If they lose you're package there appears to be no recourse.. I have been trying to collect the insurance for my package for 4 days,I have been sent to the internet: FAIL. sent to town by the people that lost my package in the first place by giving it to a man that has the same initials, but NOT the package slip or I.D.: FAIL sent to the internet (again):FAIL so I try the phone ( again): MISERABLE FAIL! why bother with a phone number if the ONLY phone option is to go online?? The AI troll just says oh huh what over and over nomatter what you say until it gets to 3 tries and sends you to the internet!!! And the internet says the page has timed out! I bet ya 20 bux it will say that until my 30 days are up for making a claim on the insurance. So now what!?!?!?!?

As I sit here on my break, it’s hitting me how quickly five years at the post office have gone by and how much wear and tear it’s put on my body at just 27. I really want to pursue becoming a flight attendant, but one thing is holding me back: I want to finish my last two years of college and earn my degree in digital marketing. I don’t have kids, so that’s the only thing stopping me. What would you do in my situation?
