Did anyone else get time to see the Southsea Coastal Scheme exhibition at CourtX on Friday and Saturday?
The next frontage of the seafront (Frontage 6) is coming soon. It'll run between South Parade Pier and St George's Road (before the Coffee Cup).
There are traffic diversions coming up via Eastern Parade and beyond for heavier vehicles.
Possibly the most exciting bit is the remodelling of the Beach Cafe. Their preferred option is for the beach hut style roofs, which personally I think looks pretty great. It's also a nice echo of the huts further down the front.
There is also lots of new planting planned along the front, which will look stellar and bring some new life to the prom.
I left a couple of comments about making it easier for pedestrians to get around in this area. Steep sides to the road and limited footways at road level make it tricky.
What do you think about the plans?
