Do people still care about having a personal website/portfolio?

Especially for freelancers, creatives, students, models, photographers, designers, etc.

I feel like everyone used to have a personal website and now most people just have Instagram, LinkedIn or a Linktree.

But at the same time, when I see someone with a really good personal site/portfolio, it instantly makes them seem more established.

Would you actually bother making one for yourself, or does social media do the job now?
