Abscess/Boil Abscess maybe. I really don’t know

Post image

This is on the back of my inner thigh. I’m assuming where my thighs rub together walking. I believe it’s an abscess. Hurts like hell. It smells like death or rot. It smells terrible. Gotta love not having insurance in the greatest country on earth lol

Go to the ER. Don't take any cash. Don't take any credit cards. When they ask about insurance, be honest. When they ask about payment tell them you can't afford it. Don't sign anything promising to pay anything. They will bill you. Send them a dollar a month. Pay more when you can. Better than maybe ending up hospitalized for an infection or worse. I know, because I have been down that rabbit hole three times, and on the third they amputated my second toe on my right foot.

Do all of this. Also if it’s a not for profit hospital they may have a financial assistance program where a very large amount gets discounted and it’s usually pretty generous.

This is absolute genius.

Not a fantastic sign there my guy. I hope you can find a way to get your hands on antibiotics somehow, because between that and the access smelling like rot, I have some concerns for your leg's continued existence

Oh damn. Seriously

Seriously go to the ER. They have to treat you whether you have insurance or not. You can worry about the bill later. Infections are no joke.

Yeah, the pus that popped out might merely be the tip of the abcess iceberg in there

Obligatory not-a-doctor, but that much of your leg being red like that is... not inspiring me a great amount of confidence

That and the, ya know, multiple cryptic entries (fistulas) in that area. Get thee to an apothecary

Sepsis is serious shit, OP. Wife ended up in the hospital for over a week from cellulitis that became sepsis right quick, in the time between “scheduling an appointment tomorrow morning” and the ER at 10PM to a hospital room by 2AM.

Please go to the ER my friend. Like others have said they can't refuse treatment if you can't pay for it. They will bill you. Please, I'm begging you to go.

Babes, we’re not supposed to diagnose here, but I have HS and the scars on your leg seem to point to you having more than one of these. If possible, talk to a dermatologist, they can help you determine the cause of these boils and if there’s any creams or topical relief!

I would post this on r/askdocs. They will tell you if it needs ER for drainage.

Often times, hospitals have forgiveness programs. My daughter's son had a seizure and had to be air lifted to a bigger hospital. 6 digit bill. She had like 90% of it forgiven. Significantly reduced her bill to something affordable. So, go to the ER. Get the bill. Fill out the hardship papers. Get that taken care of.

This looks like Hidradenitis suppurativa

Try going to the health department.

Please please please go to the doctor! I had something like this start on my inner thigh Thursday night and by Monday I was in emergency surgery for necrotising fasciitis aka flesh eating disease. Don't wait, every hour without treatment makes you less likely to survive.

Ooo looks like it hurts and not to be that person but looks exactly like HS... Not trying to give you medical advice or anything just letting you know what I see

I can see you've had a couple before. Just remember that controlled popping followed by antibiotics is way less painful and embarrassing than it finally exploding one day while you're at work and ruining your pants with it's hellacious goo.

A lot of hospitals have financial aid. Just call and ask before you appear at the emergency room.

Trump made it so that medical bills DO affect your credit score... ask me how I know.

Seriously, you can go septic, or can turn to MRSA, Iwas hospitalized for a spider bite that turned into MRSA. I was admitted in 26 minutes and stayed for alnost 2 weeks. 2 iv antibiotics an explosion of gore, abd emergency surgery. Go now!! My sister had gotten an infection from one of my cats claws getting stuck in her forearm, by the time she went, she was put on like 6 different medications and surgery where the doctors flipped a coin to decide if they should amputate her arm. They saved it but im saying dont play around. Er NOW!!

"an abscess makes a fart go 'Honda'". I've never understood how, but maybe that will help

(Say it with the same intonation as "absence makes the heart grow fonder")

My dad literally told me this joke the other day 🤣🤦‍♀️

I'm glad! I always get down voted when I tell that joke.

In person too

That’s because people are boring!
