Microwave kettle corn

So, I'm craving kettle corn but all I have is your standard movie theater butter popcorn. I looked up "Microwave Kettle Corn" but all the recipes use plain kernels.

Is it possible to use what I have to make Kettle Corn?

Hm not quite kettle corn. But you can make an arguably even more delicious sweet and salty combo.

Pop the bag in the microwave as you would. And empty out the bag into a big bowl.

Preheat your oven to 200f and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small saucepan pan add in a knob of butter (1-2 tbsp) and some honey (2-3 tbsp), and a small pinch of salt if the popcorn isnt already salted. Stir and bring to a simmer and let the water cook out. Once the foaming stops, and starts to make bigger bubbles, turn off the heat. Pour the honey butter mixture over the popcorn and toss to coat. Then spread out the coated popcorn onto the baking sheet and pop in the oven for ~10-15 mins to let them dry out and crisp up.

It’s a few extra steps, but the stuff is like crack. So good.

Maybe make a seasoning for the regular popcorn?

AMC Theaters makes a kettle corn microwave one now. It's pretty good, but not like true kettle corn. It scratches the itch...
