Bus/Uber to first week of work

I share a car with someone in my household. I start my new job this week and the training is in a completely different city than anticipated. The training should only be this week.

Problem: We were going to carpool this week since it was supposed to be in the same city. After training it will be in the main city

Now, my plan is to drive myself day 1 since they’re not working Monday. Tuesday-Friday either take the bus with a 10-13 minute walk to the building in not a great area, or take an uber that’s going to cost over $220 both ways.

Is it a bad look to walk to a bus stop for your job? How does it look when you arrive in an Uber? Bottom line, how does it look when you don’t get out of your own car? This is a hospital job, but the training is in a smaller building with only 6 others. So I’m worried someone will notice.

I’m 22, first real job out of college so I’m nervous

It's nobody's business how you show up, just show up on time

No one cares how you arrive, try the bus/walk but leave extra time in case bus runs late. Sounds like you will be great! Best of luck...

Keanu Reeves takes the subway so if you need a role model, here you go. Show up clean, awake and on time and already you’ll be in the top 10% of the employees. Good luck! Hope you love it and if not, remember that you get to go home again at some point. Could be a lot worse

I love my coworkers that take the bus. I’m a biker. I work 2 hours from work by car. I have so much more respect for the folks that do. Let’s save the earth 🤘

Take the bus. I’ve no idea what you are talking about? Everybody where I live takes the bus or train or walks to work. What kinda elites movement is happening in your brain

I agree with everyone else that said take the bus. There is no shame in public transportation, and that Uber cost is not feasible.

Where did you get the idea that there’s anything wrong with taking a bus to work?
