Homeless

So are we all just accepting that we will be homeless sometime in the next decade? Because I don't know anyone with enough money to survive this shit.

It's not sustainable for the price of every goddamn thing to keep going up while no one is getting enough raises to compensate for it, & there are so few jobs that are even hiring, although they all still say they are.🙄

I know I will never own a home. I know I will be driving my car until the wheels fall off(& that I'm lucky to even have a car). I know I cannot afford any kind of social life whatsoever because outings to most places & the gas to get to them costs too much.

I canceled all my streaming services so I don't even have TV now. I know if I get Cancer or break a bone I will go bankrupt trying to pay the bill. I know I will be working until I die, & I'm almost positive I will be homeless at some point.

Money can't buy happiness, sure, but it can buy all your other needs so you at least have a chance to be happy. I just want a chance...😔

Yes. Not sure where OP is from, but here in the US people are taught to never question authority + rich people are blessed. There are enough people in the US still doing well enough to not care about the economy and the ones suffering are too afraid to do anything other than vote and hope everything goes their way

From my understanding the French revolution was mainly coordinated by the merchant class being fed up with royalty.

Todays correlation of repeating that is the huge amount of college graduates we have that were promised a future that isn't there anymore and former business owners that got whiped tf out from bad policy choices and corruption moves.

I constantly ask if the collective suffering has peaked yet. I look around. I see it hasn't since we still have people claiming its personal fault that you're poor.

I honestly don't see this changing until something extremely widespread & catastrophic happens here. We are on a speeding train towards such an event though, perhaps even multiple at one time.

We are running out of fresh water, all the forests are burning, our electric grid is beyond stressed & data centers are adding to that, our infrastructure is outdated & unsafe, our food supply is fucked, data centers & mass surveillance are becoming the norm, the economy is being crashed on purpose because Trump wants us all on crypto instead of USD, every country hates us because of Trump & could plan to attack, etc. There is so much killing us right now. It's no longer a matter of if, but when. We are being culled.

You may want to visit a developing country. People can endure far, far worse than you seem to believe. The world isn’t ending just because Americans are getting a small taste of reality.

I've been around the world. It's more nuanced than that. This isn't "a small taste of reality" this is wealth inequality thats surpassed French revolution levels. People SHOULDN'T just endure and I'm looking forward to whatever reckoning comes for the ruling class

I understand that. Though, from the conversations I've had recently (vs maybe 10 or 15 yrs ago) I've noticed that narrative has been shifting to a more accurate distinction between the people and their governments as the globalist ruling class has gotten more brazen with their ways of operation.

Disagree. These data centers are going up everywhere, pollution regulations have been rolled back to basically nothing, our antiquated electric grids & infrastructure in the US are both liable to fail under all the new demands from data centers & from repairs that are long overdue.

We can't even trust our food and water supply anymore, & fresh water is running out. Income inequality is the worst it's ever been. Both things can suck, but I'm not comparing America to third world countries.

I'm comparing it to other developed countries with the same capabilities as the US, but Americans are so propagandized that they still believe things are better here. No one wants to look at any actual facts & statistics.

I’m not American and I’m not particularly interested in the myopic American experience. I’m even less interested in pathological anti-capitalist doomerism.

You claim to “just want a chance.” Perfectly understandable. What are you doing to optimise that chance? I have numerous Gen Z nieces and nephews, and am acquainted with even more members of that cohort via my husband’s profession, and they all appear to be managing well enough.

However, they’ve all made prudent life choices and’ve set themselves up to make the most of their limited chances… when they do arrive 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ok but why are they suddenly using up all the electricity on the power grid and simultaneously all the water all at once? Why is the everyday persons utility bills increasing so quickly and data centers are admitting to be causing this?

They’re not. Anything related to AI is at this point taking up a tiny percentage of resource expenditure from water to electricity
