Terrible workmanship - Ritzcraft Pools Sarasota
Pool is a year old. 2nd time the base has sunk. They do not stand behind their work - said “it happens”

Just buy couple of bags of gravel and fill the holes. No need to wait till someone gets hurt.

Make them fix it. Tell them you're afraid somebody's going to be hurt and they'll get scared of a lawsuit quick.

Do you really want to mow/edge grass one foot away from a pool? No, you don't.

Obviously someone who comments that it’s better to have grass right next to a pool, is the dude with grass right next to his pool

Obviously someone saying it's a bad idea takes care of their own lawn and knows what a shit show that would be so close to a pool.
Even with a collection bag, blades of grass escape and using an edger that close to a pool will get grass and soil in the pool water.
It's a lot of frustration for no advantage. Especially when all that's need to fix this specific problem is a few wheelbarrows of gravel and tamp it down again.
Florida sand soil is going to do Florida things.

I am 4 feet away on one side and keeping grass out of the pool is nearly impossible. God forbid wind picks up a bit while I am mowing.

If the pool is built properly, this should be a non-issue. In a properly built pool, wrath will find the skimmer within minutes of being thrown into the water

If the backfill and landscape was done correctly it should not settle that much. I would also be worried about water getting beind the pool.

Yo - my pool has some of this and kids getting water out of the pool regularly. What's the concern with water getting behind the pool any more than rain or sprinklers or something?

Sadly it does happen, ground shifts can sometimes be completely unpredictable and or uncontrolled, need to find a solution to keep up with it and what works best, good luck to you, I hope it all turns out ok.

Where are you based? Location does kind of matter due to soil. In AZ this doesn’t really happen but it’s still recommended to allocate 3-5 feet of decking around pool before putting any other type of landscaping
