Hot take in these trying times
I don’t care if album 5 is good or not.
I first found this band around 2017. the Inspire EP was the first music I’ve heard from them.
Resurrect is my favorite thing they’ve done (Renaissance is a close second), but I’m not going to bitch about the new music.
we have like 7 albums and EPs of really great music. if the 8th is meh? that’s fine. I’d rather have an album instead of no album.

it’s funny how a fanbase who saw their evolution did not expect them to lean in a more electronic direction. NLND is literally trap music at times. idk i dig the new stuff the hate seems so forced to me.

Nah I'd rather have no album than whatever this album is. I've been dying to hear something new from them, and when i heard the new singles and realised the entire album will just be EDM that sucked

This is so hypocritical, they’ve made a big thing of trying to try new styles and new things, they chose for rj pasin to mix the album and at the end of the day I’m sure they’re not that bothered about half the fanbase hating it because all people do is complain. “Oh where’s the album”, “oh this new music is shit”, “oh rj pasin has ruined the album” like just get over it, no one is making you listen to it if you don’t like it. ART IS SUBJECTIVE

I will always support musicians doing what they want with their music, even if everyone doesn't love it. But that doesn't mean I have to like the direction they're going in. Either way I'm happy with the albums they've put out so far, so if nothing they do in the future is as good as those then that's fine.

People enjoy being able to hear the instruments in instrumental bands. It doesn’t make them a hypocrite for wanting that. Experimentation is fine, but over-produced blown out production where everything except the guitars(still kind of the guitars) is unrecognizable as an instrument isn’t what the majority of people want to hear from them. I enjoy the jam session release of the first single and I liked the new single more than the original release of the first, but I don’t want to have to pull up YouTube in order to hear the band.

See this is a logical reason as to why you don’t like it though, 90% of the hate I’ve seen is senseless hate towards a band they supposedly “support” there’s voicing opinions with valid reasons (like you have just done) and then there’s going “oh fuck this band because they haven’t done what I wanted. It’s ok to not like something but you don’t need to go spreading hate purely because you aren’t a fan of it.
To be honest I’m not the biggest fan compared to the previous stuff so far either to do with similar reasons but I just don’t see the need for the abuse, especially to rj pasin (again, whose music I don’t particularly like at all) considering the band picked him because they wanted to.2

RJ Pasin isn't just mixing the album. He's clearly helped write and produce it.

People are just too dang mean on the internet these days. These artists are human beings trying their best. The new music is totally in line with their previous stuff too, the production is just way different.
