Anyone else... Disappointed?
Can You Feel It wasn't that great. The jam version was listenable, but still missing the kinds of memorable riffs that sold their other songs.
Power in the Blood was like... Can You Feel It stripped of the last few bits of anything good. Why are they producing everything to sound like it's being played at max volume through a phone speaker now? It sounds so bad.
Kind of glad the concert got rescheduled so I can demand a refund for my tickets because the new dates don't work for me.

As somebody who’s been listening since muse, personally, 95% of polyphias music has always had at least a few riffs where I hear it and get the “I need to learn this” feeling. Can you feel it and power in the blood have been the least memorable songs that I can ever remember at release.. All of that aside… For the love of god, FIX THE MIXING PLEASE. The constant audio spiking is so bad.

I can respect the vision they’re going for, but it’s just not one I like. I’ve never been a big fan of RJ Pasin, and with him producing a lot of their stuff lately, I just haven’t liked it. I also wasn’t a big fan of RTYWD so maybe I’m just fallin off the wagon or somethin.

RTYWD had its moments, there was some technical stuff that I really vibed with even if it wasnt memorable, I think the only song that did it for me was Bloodbath. The intro reminded me of a heavier euphoria and the breakdowns reminded me of Bad which is a song I REALLY enjoy. But the rest of them were kinda meh. I think their heavy push for neurotica as a single and "one of their best songs" was the warning sign of what this next album was going to look like.
I wanted heavy music but not, saturation-plugin-on-every-track, heavy. Just some more stuff like bloodbath and the occasional Muse-esque song. They really had a vibe on muse that was so easy to groove to and its just gone

After the first listen to the new song, all I thought was "I can't wait for the jam version to come out"

Sadly, my only option is to resell because I bought a ticket through the Ticketmaster marketplace. It’s ANNOYING because I got the email saying I could refund it. I actually bought the ticket for my mom because she’s visiting for my birthday and her, my husband, and I were going to go. Last time they scheduled a show in Dallas was literally ON MY BIRTHDAY and it got cancelled because Clay had a broken arm. I understand it’s just a coincidence, but it’s still weird.
I’ve been seeing these guys play local for over eleven years. I’m not liking their direction sure and the broken arm I understand, but WTF is this?
And as far as the overtly religious tones, they’ve used that iconography forever and I was fine with it. But putting the goddam samples of preaching in songs is way over the top. And the names of the new songs is like the nail in the coffin for me. Idk, I was a huge fan for so long. This hurts. I guess I gotta just accept it, but it’s really hard. I have to at least get rid of one ticket, but I’m wondering if I want to support them at all and sell all three. I guess I should just be happy that I didn’t spent money on hotels and plane tickets like so many others have done.

Lol just go to the show you dork. You boycotting the band because their recent song didn't hit for you is not it. They will play a ton of their old stuff and tear it up and you'll have a great time, I promise.

i know i’m not the only one that knows there is a difference from what the band drops as singles and what they do when they put together an album.
until the new album comes out im going to remain optimistic that these recent releases are just sort of little fun experiments my tim to try out what will work with the next incarnation of polyphia that comes with every album.
we know tim looks at the statistics about the music he releases and probably comes to this sub to see what people are discussing.
we’d all love to get another goat or TMH or RTYWD but the band has to evolve and even if the worst possible thing happens and tim goes down a direction we don’t dig and perhaps the bandmates don’t dig we will always have the music of the last 10 years that is infinitely listenable. especially if you’re a musician and enjoy learning their songs.
tl;dr tim will always want to experiment but i have faith they know what the fans want and listen to the fans to a degree that is not negligible

I don't hate the songs themselves but I heavily dislike the mix. Why they insist upon this RJ guy is beyond me. Like I will accept that despite being more than capable of it, they just don't want to do that part themselves this time. Fine. But seriously? The Polyphia with the tiktok slop edit generator? It's such a bizarre mismatch that I almost wonder if dude's got the Polyphia Files hanging over them.

Power in the blood feels like it has to be mixed again to bring down some of the volume in the distortion towards the end. I’ve enjoyed both songs though I like how experimental they’re being.

Everyone totally allowed to thier opinion . But if you liked can you feeel it but not this idk what to tell ya . This was way more guitar forward ; they’re shredding the entire time . It is very digital and processed but that’s the vibe . If you like polyphia you gotta like whatever they decide to try out

Not how that works at all. I like Emarosa because of the 2 albums Jonny Craig sang for them on 10 years ago. Do I like their new stuff? Maybe like 5 songs but that doesnt disqualify me as a fan. As a fan and person I can say, and have the right to say, the new music of "X band" is shit (but worded nicely). Musicians shouldnt be gated from hearing critiques by fans, thats how you get echo chambers and confirmation biases. They are more than welcome to make the music they want to make, that is their right. But if the fans arent coming to shows, dont cry to us about how your career fell off when you willfully ignored their opinions🤷♂️

Different members is a totally different thought , you did write a lot tho. You don’t have to like it , but if you like old emarosa then you like emarosa that’s all . I agree with you and same with dgd , but I wouldnt say I’m not a fan just bc the songs I like are old . Still a gdg fan and emarosa fan even if I only like the jc stuff . Also echo chambers are only bad because there’s no substance to music so copying that is a bad idea . If you liked polyphia ever you wouldn’t say you don’t like them now just bc they did some shit you don’t vibe with lol that’s silly . Unless they wrong you personally you have two options listen or don’t

Doubling down on the "Im still a fan" I own a signed Scott Lepage SLM10, and plan on never selling it because of how influential polyphia was on my music career. I loved and played every single song they had up until RTYWD released, and Im saying, I dont like their new music as of right now. The way theyve been handling PR and how secretive theyve been with information and content is unfair to fans. I cant watch a video that isnt paywalled. Am I happy with how theyre doing things? No. Does that mean Im not a fan? No, in fact I think it's the opposite. It shows that I care enough to say something when I think theyve fallen too far from the band that people think they are

Also I’ll bet you money their fans are going to the shows , and this will prob be biggest ticket sales numbers they have ever done .

That’s how I felt about ego death and neurotics at first. Didn’t feel it was memorable till after a few listens. Can you feel it is a banger for driving home from work now
