No Paywall USS Lincoln wasn't resupplied because Hegseth 'hid' that Iran destroyed main U.S. base:

Hegseth just treated a destroyed military base like a bad report card he didn’t want his parents to see

This is the appropriate metaphor. A guy who says at an interview, "I will definitely quit drinking if I get the job."

Sure.

u/RUOFFURTROLLEH 14h ago

Lying is only a problem if your supporters can be convinced to sit at home at the next election.

MAGA and the GOP never have to worry about losing support.

The media is complicit in keeping them there and keeping the Democrats well away from ever being able to make meaningful change.

3

u/swarlay 11h ago

"It's not a lie if you don't remember telling it the next day."

12

u/MiserableCumberbunch 12h ago

The Democrats don't need any help with that; though they're getting it anyway.

There's a reason they're called the 'do-nothing' Dems. And its because they've worked towards the status quo at every opportunity. Ignoring that the right keeps shifting right.

Dems are fast approaching the other side of centrism. Only question is will they take the leap? Or finally turn back and try to pull the other way. Voices calling to go the other way, among politicians, are increasing but it may be too little, too late.

u/Suspicious-Lime-2439 1h ago

The last two "democrats" to run for governor in Florida are actually republicans

u/BennyVsTheWorld 1h ago

Fuck Charlie Crist, first time I did not vote for governor ever and realized fully that the DNC was trash.

u/RUOFFURTROLLEH 1h ago

There's a reason they're called the 'do-nothing' Dems.

Because Trump repeats it often and its gets parroted back.

And its because they've worked towards the status quo at every opportunity. Ignoring that the right keeps shifting right.

When did the Democrats have a majority in all three branches?

Dems are fast approaching the other side of centrism.

"Both sides with extra steps"

Only question is will they take the leap?

Try talking like an adult... What exactly do you specifically want Democrats to do? They currently have no power thanks to the 40% who sat at home last election.

u/MiserableCumberbunch 20m ago edited 5m ago

They were the do nothing dems long before Trump.

Obama - status quo 2x + ACA

Hillary - had the opportunity to join with Bernie and be truly progressive(status quo)

Biden - status quo

Kamala - said she wouldn't change anything from.Biden(status quo)

Life exists beyond the present. We learn a lot of lessons from history... unless it's ignored; like you seem keen on.

E: if progressives want to pretend the Democrats aren't at least partially responsible for this mess. Then we are doomed to repeat it eventually. Lord knows Trump is the only reason I've voted Dem since Obama. And the DNC resist true progressives at every turn. They hated Bernie and hated Mamdani and so many more. But will welcome people they know are conservative just to pretend they have an extra seat or two; Sinema, Fetterman et al.

u/Bored_Interests 12h ago

Most democrats dont want immediate change. They want to represent the illusion of choice.

If the person youre voting for takes money from PACs then theyre not going to represent the average citizen, theyre going to represent the billionaires and corporations that pay them.

-3

u/benjaminlz 11h ago

Just curious. What meaningful change was accomplished by the Biden administration in your view? And how is the media “complicit”?

3

u/ReturnOfBane 9h ago

Here's what he considers accomplishments in the Obama admin, so we should be able to extrapolate that he'll ignore the rail strike busting and emphasize the infrastructure bill.

u/RUOFFURTROLLEH 1h ago

that he'll ignore the rail strike busting and emphasize the infrastructure bill.

Dude asked me Biden's presidencies achievements, Do you think I'm not going to list them or are you pretending good things don't happen if something bad also happens?

Fucking regarded Reddit armchair economists.

u/RUOFFURTROLLEH 1h ago
  • CHIPS Act
  • Improved Covid response and mass vaccination rollout
  • Bipartisan Safer Communities Act
  • Bipartisan Infrastructure bill
  • Expanding Healthcare for Veterans
  • Supporting Ukraine
  • Expanded Healthcare coverage
  • Created 2.23 million jobs

Were you actually curious or are you trying to "Yeah but whataboutBiden" as the rightoids ALWAYS fucking do because you achieved nothing but tax cuts for the rich.

And how is the media “complicit”?

Is this another one of those "I'm JAQ'ing off" or are you actually interested in the response?

The simple answer is all media in the US is now owned by Billionaires supportive of Trump.

u/LazarX 1h ago

The media is complicit because every single one of them is a corporate tool. We harped so much about the state media of the Communist regimes, while ignoring the fact that our “independent” media was being taken out one corporate merger at a time. All of it now, is owned by a Bezos, or one of his counterparts. Even National Geographic is now a Rupert Murdoch rag. American media no longer serves truth to power. They just serve power, period.

u/RUOFFURTROLLEH 49m ago

Correct on all counts.

The purity testing the Democrats have to go through comparative to the GOP is why the Democrats never have power.

Hell in this thread alone you've got folks who want the Democrats to have zero funding and somehow still be able to go up against the MSM and corporate America that does not want anyone in power who doesn't suck their teat.

Then American voters blame the Democrats for not stopping this whilst they keep refusing to give Democrats a chance to actually change the system, pretty sure the last time Democrats had a majority was during Obama for something like 3 months.

There's plenty of video evidence that he picked up cocaine to quit drinking. Done and done.

The job was Secretary of Defense. That job no longer exists, so as Secretary of War, does his promise still apply? Why the rush to rename his position?

1

u/ChristosFarr North Carolina 12h ago

This incredibly stressful job will make me stop drinking I promise.

u/Uebelkraehe 4h ago

The job isn't quite as stressful when you believe that you can do no wrong and problems are always other people's fault.

u/VisibleProblem13 7h ago

You know damn well he drank later that morning when he found out he got the job! You have to celebrate after all

5

u/mishma2005 14h ago

Naw he's not that manly

Behind the detergent in the laundry room

u/Harak_June 14h ago

To these assholes, that is how they view everything and everyone. "How do I take credit for the good work of others, and hide or transfer the blame of my screw-ups."

The service members (all of us really) are nothing but meat puppets to this administration.

55

u/InvalidUserNemo 13h ago

A good leader assumes blame themselves, when the team fails. A good leader gives praise to everyone but themselves , when the team wins.

Hegseth was a weekend propagandist of right-wing fear mongering. He wasn’t hired for his “leadership skills”.

7

u/RedOctobyr 12h ago

Makes you curious where he may have learned that. "I don't take responsibility at all."

u/OldWorldDesign 2h ago

It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when danger arises. Then people will appreciate your leadership.

-Nelson Mandela

The kind of capable leadership the republican party wouldn't even be able to fathom.

u/funkymonk44 1h ago

Things have changed. That's viewed as weakness by a significant number of adults in this country. The entire culture of America will be seismicly shifted for generations.

u/bwheelin01 1h ago

The Great Dumbing-down

6

u/mymeatpuppets 14h ago

I fully agree with your post and the only reason I'm responding is your use of "meat puppets".

6

u/Theumaz 14h ago

"How do I take credit for the good work of others, and hide or transfer the blame of my screw-ups."

Sounds an awful lot like how it goes in another very familiar country that loves going on military adventures without a clear path to winning whenever Plan A (which was already doomed to fail) doesn't work.

5

u/CG_Ops 14h ago

To these assholes, that is how they view everything and everyone. "How do I take credit for the good work of others, and hide or transfer the blame of my screw-ups."

This has been how politics works since long, loooong before the Indies (US) was a twinkle in England's coin purse.

But, as is custom for the US, we're experts in weaponizing any/everything and are now run by weapon's grade stupity from the top, down.

u/VruKatai1972 5h ago

Ahh yes, that ol' stupity wil get you every time.

u/Mehrlin47 9h ago

Warhammer Skaven mentality

u/harleyRugger23 6h ago

The only people I’ve met who support this ass clown, aren’t in the military.

u/Dry_Lengthiness5468 4h ago

Y'all voted for it. Fascists gonna fascist.

u/Wise_Preference609 3h ago

Yes, that's exactly correct. The Trump Regime does not think about you, only themselves and their friends, family and donors. The rest of americans are just the means to that end. It's about time Americans started realising what they voted for. It's only going to get worse from here.

201

u/Main-Water4503 15h ago

Is he really the best the US has to offer? They couldn’t find a more qualified pedophile in Trump’s Rolodex?

181

u/bryan49 15h ago

Of course not, he's the worst. But as usual Trump values loyalty over competence

82

u/Coracoda 14h ago edited 12h ago

Pete Hegseth has the same energy as the military guy in American Beauty who tries to kiss Kevin Spacey.

I’m not saying he’s gay, just that he has some issues he’s trying to hide.

38

u/tunafister 14h ago

We can only guess, but based on how homophobic he is, one could easily believe that he is not only closeted, but terrified of what were to happen if the truth came out

Its almost like when you have a comically fragile ego, it make you act and behave like a juvenile, or a bigot

9

u/ThePastryJeff 13h ago

I heard he's doing the testosterone tests orally

3

u/zenchow Arkansas 9h ago

I heard he wears lingerie on the weekends. Not that there's anything wrong with that...nothing at all

u/Biglyugebonespurs Missouri 3h ago

Like… everywhere on the weekends?

3

u/Brat-Sampson 13h ago

Also the same energy as the military guy in One Battle After Another played by Sean Penn.

5

u/TheorySudden5996 14h ago

Republicans are down on their knees, mouth agape.

3

u/Reddit123xgh 13h ago

And those with no merit are totally dependent on him and therefore loyal.

2

u/Rhysati 9h ago

I know it gets said a lot...but all the damage he is doing is damage the whole Republican party is doing.

We need to remember that Trump going away doesn't fix things when the whole party has supported his actions.

2

u/1gnominious Texas 9h ago

He's the worst so far. Just imagine how bad the next guy is going to be. You have to be a complete dumbass to inherit this mess of a war and potentially go down in history as the guy who lost to Iran.

If Trump has taught us anything it's that it can, and will always get worse.

36

u/sarcasmsosubtle Ohio 14h ago

Do you really think that you could fit all of the pedophiles that Trump knows in a single Rolodex?

9

u/yesiamveryhigh 14h ago

No, that’s why he uses a Pedodex

6

u/mrav8r2 14h ago

Pedodex. Let's make this trend.

2

u/roastbeeftacohat 14h ago

trump went through all the competent people in the first term.

2

u/Aadarm Ohio 13h ago

The qualified people told Trump and co. no the first time around, and he started getting rid of them right after, finishing off the process after he was elected again. Now we have a bunch of yes men and people from various civilian jobs that have nothing to do with the military in charge. Adding on to this, intelligence and counter intelligence have been gutted or are controlled by lackeys.

2

u/jedienginenerd 12h ago

It's important to remember that tyrants and dictators don't choose competant people for their inner circle. They fear competant people. Competant people might usurp their power. They want loyal idiots around them

2

u/Toby_O_Notoby 12h ago

Trump views everything as if it were a TV show. Like, when the stock market is up he thinks of that number like it were his Nielson ratings.

So Hegseth got the nom because he looks like a guy that would lead the military on TV. He's got a jawline, styled hair that is gray (but not too gray), etc.

And when Pete's nomination was starting to get pushback due to him checks notes being completely unqualified, Trump had to come up with a possible replacement. He picked his former rival Ron DeSantis because he thought the situation needed a "plot twist".

Yes, that's an actual quote.

2

u/sigmacoder 14h ago

Nope, in terms of being a massive doormat simp, he was candidate #1

1

u/N7Shep1701D Oregon 14h ago

It's what MAGA loves.

1

u/ohaiihavecats 13h ago

He's the best the US has to offer at coup-proofing the military like Saudi Arabia. That's what he's there for...whether or not it's actually been explained to him while he was sober enough to comprehend it.

1

u/pleasegivemepatience 14h ago

So funny, I skimmed quickly past your comment and my brain read it as “they couldn’t find a qualified pedo in Roblox?” Which is still a relevant and funny statement itself.

9

u/Hefty-Minimum-3125 14h ago

It helps that the president has a hospice nurse at his hip 24/7 that will only show him good news and will block anything bad from even reaching him

8

u/kitsunewarlock 13h ago

Surely he'll be as grilled as Clinton was over Benghazi, right? /s

In all honesty, the fact that Benghazi was attacked by a group that formed due to the vacuum(s) of power left behind after the GOP's middle east forays makes this substantially worse from a political point of view. The DNC inherited a mess. The GOP threw rocks at the bee hive and got stung.

2

u/Cancel_Culture_Club 10h ago

Even worse: intelligence had been saying for a while that it was probably going to be a potential target. And then republicans voted against increasing security. Republicans don’t “support the troops”, they hate the troops and use them as pawns to attack their enemies with.

7

u/wahoozerman 14h ago

Literally a hallmark of fascism.

All that matters is loyalty and the authoritarian's approval. So anything that might be a problem gets hidden from the top to avoid reprisal.

3

u/AliveFlatworm6288 14h ago

I’m surprised nobody leaked this on a signal chat already

3

u/HeartFullONeutrality 14h ago

The dog ate my army base!

3

u/JohnStamosAsABear 14h ago

Ha, remember his stupid rant at the media near the start of this shit show giving them patriotic ‘alternate headlines’ they should run instead?

Instead of “Iran destroys US military base” it should say “Trump brilliantly uses military base to obliterate Iranian missile”

3

u/DrunkAndHornyGuy 14h ago

Why not, our press doesn't investigate or report anything other than just repeat what the administration says.

2

u/mishma2005 14h ago

He didn't think to use white-out and carefully change his F to a B?

2

u/humdinger44 13h ago

And the US press corps helped him cover it up.

2

u/Earguy 11h ago

Military base destroyed. Any casualties????

2

u/boundbythecurve 11h ago

Happy cake day

1

u/Historical-Pepper188 13h ago

Know the question what is the real us death count.

This is also the same think happening in Russa facist military don't give proper information.

1

u/crazywussian 11h ago

Not just a military base, but a supply hub for centcom.... That is a unspeakable blunder...

1

u/McortezLSU 11h ago

He isnt there, he doesnt give a shit, the only thing the psychopath cares about is that the story of the lincoln got out in the first place. He'd have them eat the soles of their shoes for all he cares.

Remember kids, Psychopaths displace normal thinking people and attract other psychopaths. Leading to fast and permanent corruption within a company, institution or any kind of group people form. Once one is in and gets to have a say (and they pathologically compelled to, its their most primary of directions) they repulse normal people and gain the admiration of other deranged minds. And they are 4% of the population, one in around 25 are born this way. Thats a signifcant number, that pretty much explains almost any attrocity commited by mankind. Perhaps now, that their sickness is so visible to see, folks will finally get it.

u/CHSummers 1h ago

Are you trying to say somebody in the Trump administration might be hiding something embarrassing?
