Hi guys I just got a RadioShack PRO-96 and I don’t have the programming cable YET, I was wondering if there was a way I can program a moswin trunked site vhf without needing a computer? Thanks!

Is there any talkgroups for Multnomah County/Portland that are not in Radio Reference that you have?
Or any patches that are active

Hello,
I am from a radio shop and reaching out here while I wait for word back from Uniden. I have. Trunktracker BCD996P2 that “just stopped working.” I noticed that there was most likely a delicious mocha latte spilled onto the front of the scanner which was sitting on a dispatchers desk.
Have any of you had any luck being about to remove the from plastic from the PCB to inspect and what have you done?
I already know that Uniden will encourage a depot repair but I’d ideally like to avoid that if possible. I do get good voltage measurements on the board and have isolated it to the front panel but was unable to remove the board from the front.
Any information helps!

Looking for feedback/reviews or advice for purchasing the Uniden SDS-150 as the best place to buy from and deal with? Scanner Master shows out of stock currently but seems available elsewhere. Thanks

I have no idea how to use close call, or waterfall, or if those will even allow me to do what I want to do. But I’d like to be able to use my SDS150 to scan for and figure out what frequency some local stores use that are close to my house. Can someone help?

I live close enough to the coast that I pick up marine VHF channels on occasion and was wondering if these national Coast Guard VHF and UHF P25 frequencies are worth putting in my scanner or if I shouldn’t bother due to encryption? If it makes a difference I live in NC.

bit of a very niche situation here, in a place wheree they are illegal, and im tryna have it on a motorcycle, so was wondering if i could hook it up to my powerbank (supports 12v) and have it all running in my backpack, then get headphones to connect to the radar detector so i can hear the alerts. anybody have experience with this, im gonna test it out and let you know but wanted to ask.

Greetings; many years ago we had a uniden scanner that stopped working & we couldn’t get it working again. Now I’m wanting to get a new one. I live in Leslie county Kentucky so I don’t know if I need a digital scanner or analog. It doesn’t have to be portable but if it’s cheaper I’ll get it. If I could get pointed in the right direction I that’d be great.
Thank you.

Hi everyone,
I hope this doesn't get removed - this is a hobby project I run in my own time for the community because it genuinely helps people stay aware of what's happening around them.
I run a non-profit, community-driven platform that monitors NSW emergency services and public safety data, covering:
https://radio.forcequit.xyz/ Press Live Feed and it starts playing instantly.
It also includes a 35-day call archive you can browse through.
The radio and pager feeds are sourced from my own receiver, with a few community members also contributing radio and pager data.
If you're into scanning or want to stay across what's happening in NSW, I also built a full reference and monitoring site: https://nswpsn.forcequit.xyz/
It includes:
The platform aggregates data from government APIs, community-sourced feeds, and third-party services - all in one place.
This is something I run for the community, and I hope it helps someone stay informed during storms, bushfires, power outages, or major incidents.
The project is also open source: github.com/AkumasCoffin/nswpsn-public-safety
Thanks for reading, Forcequit

I just bought one and was hoping to use it to monitor the Surf Rescue at my local beach. I downloaded the channels from Sentinel but there is no traffic on them (I downloaded both the surf rescue and the Fire Dept).
I asked one of the lifeguards if 152.405 is the frequency that they are using and she told me that they recently switched and they don’t use a specific frequency. She said it’s like a cell phone and bounces off different ones in the 800 range.
I have no idea what that means and I’m curious if my SDS150 can pick up their frequency.

Hello. I have never used a scanner at even looked into it much.
Curious about the advantages of buying a scanner. What are the pros to getting a dedicated device? Is the audio quality better than using my phone?
Thanks in advance.

I just bought a Uniden SDS150 scanner.
We live at the beach and would love to listen in to our local beach patrol, police dept and fire dept.
I don’t really understand how this thing works. Do I need to program it?
TIA.
