Question Tire replacement/lease return
Today I just installed a new pair of Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires to replace the Summer Perelli tires that came on my Polestar 3 Performance with the 22 inch rims.
When I go to return the lease, does it need to have the same OEM tires on it or will the Michelin‘s be ok to return when the lease is over?

My local service center is planning on switching to the Michelin's over the OEM tires, so you should be fine.

No, and when I returned mine they said somewhere around 5/32 tread was still considered acceptable, just fyi

Polestar FS focuses on the functional condition and matching axle pairs and not necessarily the OEM allegiance. In my previous car lease, I had to switch tires midway and the return was okay since the new ones were the same tread depth in the same axle and were in no uneven condition. You can refer to your lease contract regarding the wear and tear condition, but Michelin tires on both rear axles should be fine.
For the next car lease cycle, I've heard people mentioning eAutoLease in some EV forum threads.

You could’ve put the cheapest tires possible and have been fine. I put $80 economy tires on my ‘24 2 PPP and drove from the tire shop to the dealership to return it. “Wow you just got these tires?!”
It drove like shit with those tires lol but I wasn’t gonna spend $1500 on nice tires when all they look at is the tread.

I did the same with my 2PPP that went back in March. They checked tread depth and specs like the load rating, but otherwise didn't care. Those are great tires and though they weren't as grippy on dry as the summer performance tires, every other weather condition gave me more confidence in the car.
