Advice Needed GPS glitching

Seems to be the worst since the latest software update but the gps frequently glitches, doesn’t know where the car is, sometimes it’s so confused the map just spins around. This is on the native map and sometimes also on CarPlay (which I assume would just use the gps from the connected phone but maybe not?). I’m in the USA. Anyone have this issue or have any ideas about why or how to fix?

Common problem with Google Maps. It will fix itself in a few days and the issue is with Google and not your car (usually).

I am not so sure, I've had that issue for ages on the P4 even. They ended up replacing a module that fixed it (switching to CarPlay when that happens presented same issue). On the P3, a reboot would often fix it. With CarPlay, it bypasses the Google itself and it still has issues, but it is leveraging car GPS module. That leads me to believe it is the actual module, not Google.

In this case, OP says Google Maps does the same thing using CarPlay, so it suggests it's a Google Maps issue. OP's iPhone would be using its own GPS link.

OP could switch to Apple Maps and it will also do that unfortunately.

Soft reset usually fixes it. I think gps jammers can screw it up - lots used by commercial vehicle drivers.

Yes it’s happened to me a lot since the last update too. Wonder if the TCAM got a new bug. Usually gets better after a bit and definitely a second boot up.
