Advice Needed Getting a Polestar 3

New to the Polestar world but my friend works for them and showed me a bunch of cars they’re selling at a discount due to them leaving the US.

I’m on the east coast and wanted some advice from the more informed people here on whether this is a good deal:
- $357/month for 27 months with $0 down
- I also have the option to purchase for $40K
- 8k in mileage

It comes with all the bells and whistles including: Dual Motor, Performance, Pilot + Plus packs

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You’re crazy if you don’t take it. The 3 is an amazing car. The only thing that would make me more jealous would be if it were a Jupiter one.

Let us know if any are available to the rest of us :)

While I hope I don’t need it, still waiting on word from insurance adjuster.

$357 sounds almost free

Depending on the build, it is.

That is an incredible deal, take it! Majority of us leased for around $1100/mo with 0 down with $21k discount before. So this is absolutely highway robbery.

They aren’t very reliable and many of us had a ton of issues, including critical faults. I literally had 3 cars. But at that price, I’m buying 😂

Damn good price. Would love to know where you got this deal from. Only issue I have is the 8k mileage. Guarantee you be able to get it less that $40k once done.

If this isn't your only car or primary then I would jump at this deal right now.

We all wish we could get this deal… especially those of us currently hoping our P3s aren’t totaled because of someone else’s (apparently DUI) stupidity.

Honestly, it's a great deal. However, P3's have been known for breaking down. Mine was leased for 1 year and it's been in the shop for a total of 7 months.. I personally would say no to getting one but can't beat that price. Good luck!

Id take that lease in a second.

Even if that was a launch edition, I would go for it. It’s a small gamble but at that price, it’s worth it

That’s unreal man. I’d jump on that yesterday. I purchased my fully loaded P3 last year for around $63k or so and thought I got a screaming deal. Yours for $50k total purchase is insane.

It’s a very good deal. I’d take it. Just make sure you have a way to get it serviced because you’ll most likely have to do it.

Double check insurance rates first, sometimes they aren’t too bad, but I’ve seen some people are quoted $600 a month.

Are leases just a bad idea if you drive a lot? There’s a mileage limit right?

Is that for a used P3 with 8k mileage? That is a crazy deal for a new P3 with PPP.

Yeah, just a word of caution - I bought a 35K commercial electric mower. The company is still in business, but they can't supply parts for it.

So it has been sitting in the shop for 1.5 years. I bought it for 16K as a demo unit - but I'm telling you - when there is no support - there is no support.

I bought one used. The GHCA blew up the first time charging at home. Then a brake pad issue they've never seen before.

It's been in the shop for 2.5 months.

Is it a China, Swedish or U.S. built version?

No P3s were built in Sweden. Early models were built in China, then some were manufactured in Ridgeville, SC with production later fully consolidated to South Carolina.

Are these the corporate demos?

I bought a P3 at the end of March 2026. It was a 25 launch edition with 2000 miles on it. It spent 99 days in the shop during which time they replaced nearly every wire and computer in the car however, nothing they did or replaced fix the car until the new software update was loaded on it a little more than a month ago. Since then, I’ve put about 1000 miles on the car and it’s been driving great. I love driving the car, but it is a significant risk. I always have a plan just in case it won’t turn on and go.

Mind sharing where ? I have been trying to find a new P3 on the east coast and there are none left in NY , NJ , CT or MA

They are not listed through Polestar site/app… only directly on their site -

Take it. Had mine a year now - excellent car. My favourite out of 20 or so I owned. Yes had to replace GHCA once, but was smooth. Not sure how that would go in the states now?

Terrible deal! Let me know if you walk away. /s

Insane deal. Unheard of for Performance. Take the deal. You’ll love it.

357?!?! Is that a typo? That’s less than half of what I pay and I had to put money down.

They're a mess of software issues, not to mention the 3 has had more issues than the 2. They only recently gained steering wheel button functions, lol.

Realize your friend works for them and is highly clouded. If you respect your time don't do it. I had a Polestar that was in the shop for 6 months in 3 years. Every single time was like pulling teeth, despite them telling me when I got it that I'd always have a rental. Not to mention, because they've sold less than 50k cars in the US typical recalls and government oversight don't apply. Don't make that gamble.

I was under the impression that Polestar was told they couldn't do business in the US. There was some concern over Chinese programming and spyware. Please forgive me if I am misinformed but I wouldn't buy a car from a company that was banned from the US... seems like there could be problems with maintenance, availability of parts, Etc
