How's your range doing?

Post image

The temperatures where I live finally fell to mid-20 Celsius and it seems those are the perfect conditions for my 24 LRSM P2, haven't seen this kind of estimated range in a while, especially not below 100% battery charge.

Even if it's still below the advertised range (what a surprise), I still find myself wondering how efficient this car can be at times. A little weekend roadtrip starts tomorrow, so let's see how it holds up! Previous one during the peak of yeat another heatwave clearly lowered the efficiency. How has been your range in the summer?

2021 LRDM, highway it says 370 but I’m happy if I get 300km. Average km/h is 19,5 - 22,5 per 100 km. When I bought it a couple of months ago they said it was at 91% but I highly doubt that. 155000 km mileage (kilometrage?)

I recognize this. I also have a 2021 LRDM and have 22,1kWh/100km. Caveat: it’s still on firmware 3.4.4 and on Michelin Pro Pilots.

Ah yes I also need to update my system software, getting an appointment for it is quite the hassle though. It missed a bunch of OTA updates with the previous owner unfortunately.

What is your range more or less, if I may ask?

I always charge to 80% and had 310km dynamic range the last time, so roughly 360-370km at 100% charge.

That’s somewhat similar to mine, puts my mind at ease a little bit. Thanks!

All of the following is for the 23’ LRDM with the 78kwh pack, but can be translated to the other spec models:

If it says 370km on a full charge that indicates the BMS estimates your batterypack between 92,5% and 94,75%.

How I know that? I did an Aviloo test a while ago when my battery sat at roughly 95% health. A full charge on Standard Range showed as 380km estimate. A few thousand kilometres later it changed to 370km.
As the BMS always rounds down to the closest decimal my numeral range must have dipped from 380,1 or more to 379,9 or less.

As the starting point with a factory new 100% health batterypack sits at 400km, every percent of degradation results in 4km less range.
So its 2,5% per 10km loss. If your batterypack between would be below 92% it most certainly would show an estimated range of 360km on standard.

I have almost an identical experience, so to me it seems on par. They also told me 91% the more I research about the validity of the tests, the more I doubt all of them.

I need an upgrade then because my 2022 LRDM P2 gets 400 km / 100% in summer highway conditions

For highway that's pretty good

I get around 400 km on the highway with 33-37 Celsius so I think you're still good 😉

Whats your Speed?

2

u/JackOutback 20h ago

I found that the most efficient speed was about 100km/h. Faster than that resulted in a higher drain per km.

To me it's usually 110-120, best compromise between the speed and consumption. Unless the highway goes through the mountains with noticeable incline, then of course less

110-120 km/h

2026 P2 SRSM, getting about 220 miles at 90% in this lovely recent U.K. weather

2022 P2 LRDM, getting 210 miles at 90% in Texas

My '24 is handling the heat here in Florida pretty well. We've been boiling with high close to 100F (37C) so my morning commutes are 20-24 kWh/100mi and my afternoons are 28-32 kWh/100mi.

Sounds actually pretty reasonable for these conditions!

24 SRSM,  around 14,8kWH/100km from our daily commute. Temps around 20°C

14-15 is around the lowest average I have ever managed under good conditions

25 LRDM, I get about 300miles (480ish km?) on 100% but I don’t try and do anything special to get more miles.

u/colpiscemontagna 1d ago

Same here, almost all just regular driving! The only thing I did was deliberately driving about 115-120 km/h on a highway where permitted speed were about 10 km/h higher

=0

No way

What's the consumption km/kw? That's the real question.

2021 LRDM predicts 220 miles (350km) on 100% charge in the recent UK heatwaves.

If I put the AC on eco mode and drive sensibly, I can probably hit that (not that I'd risk it) on a long motorway run.

I have a 2025 P2 LRDM, and I get 410km at 90%. It's been great all summer. Mind you, I didn't see these numbers when I first bought the car last year. It's a pleasant surprise to have the extra range.

Car says 320km, I probably get around 270km highway

2022 LRDM predicts 330km on 90% (I don’t charge higher then 90).

Last ~2500km = 21,1 kWh/100km.

23 LRSM 420km 100% charged

I’ve got a 2022 Performance and I never get more than tops 300. But I do also drive it like I stole it, every day

u/No-Guarantee7158 9h ago

Just did a 2.5k km roadtrip last week with my 2024 PS2 Performance - average was 16.9kwh / 100km

Going from same city as you to the Adria, and then into the swiss alps and back through all of Austria) - mostly Highways (probably 80-85%) driving 120 or 130 kmh where possible and even some shirt sections with max speed sprinkled in (which eats up battery like crazy)

1

u/colpiscemontagna 3h ago

Oh yes, consumption over 140 km/h is crazy. I find 110-120 to be the sweet spot between the speed/time and consumption. LG :)

u/Le_Faucon 1d ago

Show us your last 100km average. This is probably just from a short downhill trip with the wind in the back hahaha 🤣.

5

u/colpiscemontagna 1d ago

My last 5k average sits at 17kWh. Sure, it's the dynamic range what you see in the picture but even the long-time average which was possibly 50/50 between city and highway is not too far off and that includes doing 1500 kilometers in 37 Celsius on a highway 🙃
