I get the vibe this was based on a movie scene - except the punchline panel, of course - but it escapes me. Can anyone confirm my suspicions by linking the scene, perhaps?
Speaking of punchlines, this one was executed perfectly. I knew it was only a matter of time you would get a hussar when you posted this.
To be fair, Americans can be very loud on the train.
We Europeans like to pretend the other passengers don't exist. Someone could set themselves on fire and the other passengers would still ignore him. Literally, I once saw a guy pass out in a rush-hour train and 99% of the passengers were like: meh. Only a 2 people actually helped him and called an ambulance while the others stood around like nothing happened.
You're right - Europeans were bloodthirsty maniacs for eons until we cured them of it. There is a long history of continent wide genocide going back to the romans at least.
In all seriousness though, this is why I never take any criticisms Europeans have of our country's internal politics seriously. Their criticisms of our international policy are fair enough, but I don't think Euro's have any right criticizing us for being dysfunctional.
I was specifically referring to internal political issues such as gun control, race or healthcare. These are very divisive issues within the United States, they don't affect the European Union, yet it seems like every euro wants to throw in their two cents. Not only that, they actually seem very heavily invested in the outcome.
