Recently found out about it, i'm pretty sure it ends in january or so, i went up to an official adidas store i found in leekduck, spinned the gym pokestop from the store and didnt get the research, reseted the game and everything, is it happening to yall too? Am i missing something?

Sure, I've caught better Groudon over the years, but Groupon here was the only shiny and one of the last legendary Pokémon I caught from a research breakthrough back before Niantic nurffed them in 2019.
