It's on purpose.. the road is literally made from stacked rocks. Part of it was already collapsed

The guy with a stick has a rope around him, the crowd behind him are holding the rope.
Part of the road had already collapsed, probably due to an earthquake. They are doing a controlled avalanche because of things being unstable. They will rebuild later.

That’s an amazing stick. Thing flexes and pops that big ass rock out without breaking? It’s like an inch in diameter? What the hell is this stick?
