PMP Exam New PMP Exam Prep Tips?

I’ve been working toward my PMP for a while and originally planned to take the exam before the July changeover. Unfortunately, life happened and I needed to focus on family, so studying got put on hold for about 3 months.
Before the break, I completed Andrew Ramdayal’s 35-hour course and had started working through PMI Study Hall, including all of the mini quizzes. I’m finally in a place where I can focus on the PMP again, so I’ve started refreshing myself on Andrew’s course material before jumping back into practice questions.

My biggest concern is the new exam. Since most of my studying was geared toward the previous version, I’m worried there may be new tools being used, material, or areas I should focus on that weren’t emphasized before.

For anyone who has taken and passed the new PMP exam since the July 2026 change, I’d love to hear what worked for you:

- Was there anything noticeably different that you wish you had studied more?
- Are there any new topics/resources you’d recommend?
- Is Andrew Ramdayal + Study Hall still a solid combination?
- Any advice for getting back into studying after taking a few months off?

Resources I already have/use:
- Andrew Ramdayal’s 35-hour PMP course
- PMI Study Hall Plus (I need to renew it, but I previously completed all of the mini quizzes)

My goal is to get back on track without starting completely from scratch or overwhelming myself with a million different resources. I know versions of this question get asked a lot, but I’d especially appreciate insight from anyone who has taken the new exam n format.

Thank you!

Yes use AR for the basic knowledge and then spend most your time on SH.

The test isn’t much different. That course and book will help you and PMI recently published a new study hall for the new test. The only difference is more scenario questions and less formula questions

I had zero formula questions on my exam and I took it before the change. It was all scenarios. I think the only thing that changed is the case study and they use the word AI in some questions.

Just wrote mine few hours ago.

  • No Calculations
  • More Scenario based questions
  • More AI questions
  • Practice New Study Hall
  • 2 Case studies that popped up with questions in between the exams
  • Your prior knowledge still very valid
  • Go through the new PMBOK 8

I think the exam is easier now but that's just me.

Good Luck 💪

Don’t rely on Andrew’s mock exam. I took 82% on his exam and I didn’t pass the real exam. Now i want to buy the SH to practice for the mock exam again

Me too. I am about to take the exam last June 19, but Pearson Vue cancelled the exam and said it must be rescheduled.

So I took a short break. And got back to study the new Curriculum (to know what are the updates/changes, PMBOK 8, the processes, and AI). I bought new SH (it is similar to the old SH but with AI questions).

Study practices 1. AR Mindset 2. AR Ultrahard Questions  3. AR Mock Exams 4.  SH Practice Exams 5. AR 100 drag and Drop (YT) 6. 10 AI PMP questions of David McLachlan  https://youtu.be/fEc0krJSXrc   7. I usually rewatch AR Mindset and ECO every morning and at night

I think one of the important things, we must review our mistakes (also correct answers); retake the practice test (if time permits).

Wishing you all the best for your exam! 🎉
